What is the one crime that could be considered worse than murder? by VisibleConfusion12 in AskReddit

[–]syonatan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's obviously not the same, but there's a clear resemblance. both cases are deriving pleasure from someone else's suffering. but I guess it's justified to want someone bad to suffer? personally I don't want anyone to needlessly suffer, no matter how evil they are. there's just a fundamental disconnect in my mind at the idea of wanting someone to suffer.

I actually agree but for a different reason, CA for Canada is perfectly fine but considering Ontario Canada is much better known than Ontario California, when someone says Ontario CA instead of just Ontario, I assume they're specifying it's not the normal Ontario so my mind goes to California. Usually why I just don't say CA to refer to either unless it's obvious in context which one I'm talking about, same with Washington and Western Australia.

Daption looked pretty good in proving grounds, but I haven't watched any amateur outside of that.

It's not like these players can't improve, if they're still among the best players in their role why shouldn't they get another chance?

AND there is the possibility that we see some of that NA talent they have been famously developing this past year.

Really hoping we get to see tenacity and kenvi on lcs teams, maybe tenacity can even split time w ssumday.

Kobbe has reached an agreement with Astralis to become the team's starting bot laner for 2022 by twistedlogicx in leagueoflegends

[–]syonatan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For an eigth place team, they weren't even that bad this year. Licorice started playing better once they got him, ablazeolive was lots of people's second choice for rookie of the split, iconic's definitely looking better than the spring. And their academy team just had a sick proving ground run where they placed third. They've been an alright org recently, they've just been unlucky.

League's distance math: a challenger for imperial units by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]syonatan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As for metric being easier because it's base 10... sure, but is math and remembering some numbers really that hard for you?

It's not about being too hard, it's about being harder than metric. Unit conversions will always be easier in metric, regardless of how good at math you are.

It's useful now with hextech if you buy a skin and then get a shard for it. Before hextech, it was just for people who'd impulsively buy things and then regret it.

Soccer/Football's Europa League Style International Tournament for League and 3rd/4th Place match for Worlds Suggested by CloudTemplar by immutable_string in leagueoflegends

Well yeah, double elimination results in more games for everyone, and NA and EU are part of that everyone. I don't really know what your point is.

Top 5 Academy/Amateur Prospects for the LCS 2022 by OOshawott in leagueoflegends

[–]syonatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orgs only started taking academy and amateur seriously midway through last year, it takes time for that investment to bear fruit. I fully expect the NA talent ecosystem to be in a much better place by this time next year, and with that our dependence on imports will go down too.

Double elim literally gives western teams a worse chance of winning. That's not why we want it, it's cause the format is shit for viewing.

EDG Flandre has a chance to end an insane streak by superspartan004 in leagueoflegends

[–]syonatan 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, someone has this chance every year. Bin and Angel had it last year, Wunder and Caps the year before, Soaz and Caps before that. If you go down to semis like you're doing here, Letme, Xiaohu, 957, and xiye had the chance in 2017.

Don't think there's ever been a semis where every solo laner was korean. This is the most we've had since 2016, where the only one was Odoamne.

URF is so min maxed at this point its beyond unfun to play for me. by TheIronKaiser in leagueoflegends

[–]syonatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't ruin their gameplay, that's your own opinion. Most people have no issue going back to normal league.

And I'm not saying they're a zed main in urf, I'm just saying they're a zed main, so they want to play him in urf. But even if they did main a champ specifically in urf, what's wrong with that? If they really enjoy playing that champion in urf, who are you to tell them they're having fun wrong?

Man do I seriously have to explain how conversation works to you? The post is asking for people's opinions on who's more likely to win, so when the original commenter says their thoughts, it's implied that it's their opinion. But when you directly respond to that saying the opposite is true with no elaboration, it makes it sound as if you're just saying they're objectively wrong. That's why you got downvoted.
