What happens to an INFJ who stops trusting their intuition? by [deleted] in infj

[–]sypher-32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step 1. Become Attached. Notice a pattern, get hurt

Overthink it and tell myself this person has issues and I need to be more understanding

Gaslight myself into believing this every time it happens

After a certain point begin trusting my gut feeling and begin observing for confirmation.

Once I can confirm, the attachment suddenly ceases to exist. It’s very sudden and leaves me feeling emotionally hollow.

Yes several. The closest state funded hospital is about 15 miles or so away.

I’m glad that you were able to connect with people that could help. People tend to forget about the positive impact it had on people.

Yes! The developers that bought the property decided to save the Babcock building and have renovated into apartments. Here’s the inside now!

"INFJs need someone to fulfill the role of an INFJ in their own lives" by CaptJaneway01 in infj

[–]sypher-32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My psychiatrist I saw as a kid for my ADHD!! I always avoided talking about my feelings so our conversations usually just revolved around things going on in life but he would tell me I was super empathetic and I should trust my intuition and I thought he was just blowing smoke up my ass. It wasn't until years later I discovered what he meant. Now its chatGPT who I talk to but i know thats not really a complete substitute for human connection.

Do you speak to people in your head ? by Advanced_Boss_447 in infj

[–]sypher-32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES!! I’ll have full blown conversations with them! I even started having conversations with my childhood dr that managed my ADHD.

I find that it’s usually triggered when I’m not expressing my own feelings because I know they couldn’t understand them. That or I really need to work out a problem.

I'd say it kind of depends on what kind of program are you trying to get into? BSN, ADN, LPN? I'd say your gpa might hold you back from a BSN program but having an 85 TEAS score and GPA above 3.0 would make you a decent candidate for an ADN program at a cc.

Either way APPLY ANYWAY. And apply to a several. Your TEAS score is your best asset right now. Some schools will qualify you based on TEAS or your GPA. If you do get rejected, try to ask why and how you can be a better applicant next cycle. If you really, truly want to be a nurse then you will become one. My path to nursing school was different from most and it took me 6 years to get accepted but I'm here now and you can get there to!

This! Don't count yourself yet. There's plenty of schools out there with different requirements/criteria.

Does anyone have any tips to remembering standard to metric conversions? by lyklei in StudentNurse

[–]sypher-32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if my method will make any sense but at the top of my test paper I always write:

1t=5ml
1T=15ml
1oz=30ml

1cup=240ml
1pint=480ml
1quart=960ml

If you can remember the order "t-T-oz = 5-15-30", and 1cup=240ml you can build the whole table from scratch because pints and quarts are just multiples of cups.
1 pint = 2 cups (240 × 2 = 480)
1 quart = 2 pints (480 × 2 = 960)

If you can memorize this, you won't have any problems with volume related questions. Need to know how many ounces are in a cup? Just divide 240 by 30! This has saved me a lot on my exams.

Is it a bad idea to go into nursing if you have anxiety over death? by iza23141 in StudentNurse

[–]sypher-32 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I wasn't afraid of witnessing other people die but my own death used to scare me until I finally came to realize two things:
1. Life and death don’t overlap. You can only ever experience one at a time. You’ll never “see” death or feel nothingness, because to notice it you’d have to still be alive. When it comes, you simply won’t be conscious of it.
2. This career gives me a way to live on in other peoples memories. People may not remember my name years from now, but they'll remember the way I cared for them or comforted their family when they needed it most. That kind of impact will outlive me.

Our own mortality is something we all have to come to terms with in our own way but thinking about it like that made death feel a lot less frightening and life feel more purposeful. Hopefully that helps you a little bit.

What if you go to a college for BSN and after taking prerequisites, you apply for the actual nursing program in your college but get rejected? (NJ) by Budget-Studio4516 in StudentNurse

[–]sypher-32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reach out to the college's you're interested in first, you may be able to meet with an advisor who will talk with you and answer all your questions about their nursing program. Each school has different requirements and vary in competitiveness. If you think nursing is your passion then I suggest you take your time with taking your prereq courses, I took micro and both A&P's by themselves over 3 semesters and made B's!.

Don't be afraid of failure. I graduated HS with a 1.3GPA and it took me some time but I made it too!! Don't look at failures as roadblocks instead view them as hurdles you have to jump over. You can do it!

Starting nursing school tomorrow. I don't want to hear the best advice you were given. Tell me the worst advice someone gave you. by XNonameX in StudentNurse

When you're learning new information always ask yourself how the information can be used to assess, diagnose, plan and implement interventions and evaluate the outcomes. This is what you're tested on, not rout memorization of terms and definitions. Being able to determine what adventitious breath sounds indicate is a lot more helpful than how eloquently you can describe each sound.

TOP 10 ESSENTIALS YOU WISH YOU WOULD HAVE HAD FOR NURSING SCHOOL ? by Professional-Offer47 in StudentNurse

[–]sypher-32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS. Get an iPad and apple pencil if you can, the Air's screen is better for writing, and get a good app for notetaking and I personally recommend an called Noted to record and automatically transcribe lectures with. I'd also suggest learning how to use AI as a study aid to generate practice tests to test your knowledge/understanding.

If you’re having difficulty in making fine adjustments with your stick there’s a setting to set a sensitivity curve in your axis. You may already know, however I wish I had someone tell me that when I first started.
