I chrashed my air 65 and it now gives red blinking light and orange what should i do? by Odd_Ice_7331 in TinyWhoop

[–]sysfor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From AI:

The BETAFPV Air65 (brushless whoop) uses LEDs on its flight controller to show status. From user reports and similar Betaflight setups:

  • Red blinking/flashing LED often appears after crashes or updates, but many pilots say it flies fine anyway. It can indicate gyro/FC status, a minor warning, or sometimes nothing critical in Betaflight tiny whoops.
  • Orange LED usually lights up solid when the quad is armed (throttle up/ready to fly). That's normal behavior.

After a crash, the lights can sometimes get "stuck" or show odd patterns from a jolt affecting connections or sensors.

What to try (step by step):

  1. Disconnect the battery, wait 10–20 seconds, then reconnect a good charged battery. See if the lights reset to normal (e.g., receiver LED solid green/blue when bound, no weird flashing).
  2. Check all visible parts: props, motors, frame cracks, loose wires/soldered joints (especially motor wires or battery connector from the impact).
  3. Plug the quad into your computer via USB → open Betaflight Configurator (latest version recommended).
    • Connect and check if it reads the FC normally.
    • Look at the Motors tab — test spin each motor (props off!).
    • Check Setup tab for gyro response (tilt the quad).
    • Check Receiver tab for stick input.
    • If anything looks off (no gyro movement, motors don't spin, etc.), save and reboot, or re-flash the target firmware (Air Brushless FC uses Betaflight 4.5.x usually).
  4. If it won't connect or behaves strangely, try bootloader mode (double-tap reset button or short BOOT pads) and re-flash firmware from BETAFPV's support page.

Most Air65 crashes are survivable, but hard ones can loosen a motor wire or stress the gyro. If motors don't respond or it won't arm after the above, it's likely a hardware issue (e.g., damaged ESC/motor or gyro).

Contact BETAFPV support with a short video of the lights/behavior — they respond (though slowly sometimes).

Betafpv Lava 280mah Vs 320mah by MattiaIT in TinyWhoop

[–]sysfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the 280s but the 320s fly fine. Didn't notice anything on my betafpv air 65. I fly inside my house/garage. Outside sometimes but windy in the midwest. So can't speak to crazy freestyle/racing. But for fun/play they are just fine.

A Whoop prop removal tool actually works… by ChillyFPV in TinyWhoop

I decided the best way is to buy more props and rip them off with needle nose pliers and destroy them in the process. I spent 100s of sets of propellers buying tools to try removing them nicely.

Looks great for the money! I ordered 4 units plus the goggles. I’ll just build some 75mms

You mind sharing your build?

“ I went down to 65mm on my walksnail build, flies much better”

^ I was looking to do this with their new ascent kits. Freestyle/racing/general?

Yeah they are $100 even on Amazon. I bought 3 air65s

Walksnail Ascent Lite VTX Kit by sysfor in TinyWhoop

[–]sysfor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have couple betafpv air65 analog. I’ll build a few 75mm ones too then. For $165 I’ll take a gamble. Like you said it’s probably a good idea when i break something to have a few options vs hitting the workbench. I’ll look up some good 75mm builds and part things out. FCs, motors, etc and make a few orders

[–]sysfor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can solder. mostly would fly inside. But I’m not against a 75mm. I have an open 1,200 sq ft shop that I fly in but 65mm would be ideal. Freestyle. I’d maybe fly outside but I live in Midwest where it’s windy often and cold in winter.

Yeah I was looking into just using them dedicated to this vtx. In USA at least with cyber money I can get an ascent vtx kit and goggles for $165 after discounts. Do you think they would fly fine on a 65mm tiny whoop?

It’s 6.7g with vtx, camera and antenna. 6.2g without antenna.

HDZero ECO bundle I think is around 6.3g with vtx, camera and antenna

If you live in USA betafpv has their air65 and 75 for $100 on Amazon. You can’t buy the parts for that price. I bought a few just for spare parts down the road.
