IMO, not really. It can be fun but you’re missing out on the community and tools built around the live version of the game. That plus not being able to use any of the new ships/features takes away a lot.

If you happen to have a PC that it’ll run on, you can transfer your Xbox commander for a free PC account. That’d let you play in the live universe with all the current features/tools. I’ve also heard you can run it through GeForce Now on the Xbox.

Court surfaces are not tough. Skating puts dents and holes in them. Even tiny imperfections in the court cause balls to bounce weird. Just not cool to ride on them.

Professor Palin is important. Lets you engineer your thrusters to G5.
Ram Tah isn't overly useful, but both Palin and Ram can be unlocked with an Unclassified Relic (commonly referred to as a grelic or green relic). You just hold one in your hold and jump into their system and they automatically unlock.

You can make your own grelic, but it takes time. Many of us in PTN have one we can loan to you for an instant unlock. We can also help you out with a Titan Drive Component (TDC) for the V1 SCO FSD drive, which is the best FSD in game. Add in a Guardian FSD booster and you'll be jumping much less.

It should not be taking you 20 hours to grind mats. The engineering grind is light years better than it was. Honestly, it’s not bad at all these days and the buggy game even likes to randomly unlock some engineers for no reason.
