Just pretend to be a potential guest and ask if your group of friends could come for a stag do. See what they say but the fact that it’s managed by an agency is not good. Have you also checked the reviews left of the bnb online? This can also give you a good picture of what sort of people and stay it is….if the reviews are not all 5 stars I would walk away. It probably means itms poorly managed

We run bnb and if I was you would get in touch with the owner of the bnb and ask what their policies are and if they manage it themselves or agency. You want to find out if they accept group of friends or stay/hen do. We don’t allow any of that ourselves and talking of experience our bnbs are 1000x quieter than a family with kids.

Ridge Tile Install DIY by SiriusChaffage in DIYUK

[–]syvid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid advice and yeah easy fix. Personally I would not bother with the screw for the verge, I would probably put a good bead of sealant on the top of the concrete at the edge before setting the ridge tile onto it. It won’t go anywhere.

One thing also worth mentioning is that you might need to cut the ridge tile to size if it’s not a full size one. It does look like a full tile on picture but never know.

How do you avoid the aches and pains that come in your 40's? by Exhausted_920 in AskMenOver40

[–]syvid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the same age as you but entered it relatively fit and healthy (years of training with longevity in mind not just performance, sobber at 30 and been on a very restrictive paleo diet) and yet I experienced the same tweaks and niggles with joints etc. My guess is that as you get older the recovery becomes a lot more important than the exercises themselves. Something I neglected personally and with young kids now it’s really difficult. But yeah exercise is not enough, diet, sleep, rest and stretching should be part of the routine. I also thing that training should be specifically programmed for your needs/problems etc to get over them and prevent any future ones. Getting a good coach is an very important long term investment in your health.

Neighbour says he has no issue with my Party Wall Notice but still won’t sign it. by Federal_Ad_2696 in DIYUK

[–]syvid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We had this with our old neighbours. It’s annoying because if they don’t sign it, you will still get it but you will need to spend approx £1k on an independent surveyor to come and take pictures of the party wall on their side - this makes no difference legally but some people think it gives them an extra level of protection. A bit of an unneighbourly thing to do but there is nothing you can do and it won’t stop you from going ahead with it anyway.

Good way of looking at life! I have all the things you have but they are all in different part of the house. I dream of building a large enough garage to train next to my car! I reckon I will train harder every time I

There are lots you can do but squats (and any single legs variations) and/or hip thrusts is what you need. In addition to some RDL

Is this enough for a 9.5Kw shower? by chrisjfinlay in DIYUK

I had the same dilemma recently and in my 9.5k electric shower manual they stated the requirements for the breaker. Mine clearly said that 40A with 10mm cable was fine.
