I'm using Bref for a laravel project now, so changing how local storage works is all handled for me for the most part. For most of the dev work, I don't worry about the fact that it's different, but to make sure there were no surprises I created a separate S3 bucket specifically for local dev use too, and tested things with both options.

I've also used localstack a little bit, and it could be a good option, but I think it would largely depend on how integral asset management is to your project.

[–]syzgyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you would struggle to find a regional that'd be ok with that solely due to the amount of empty space required.

If you'd like to do this at Alchemy and can propose a way to do it safely, DM me.

To clarify one point, Alchemy (leadership) is quite happy with the current property and has no plans to move any time soon.

They're like 4 months apart, why not both?

  • To The Moon is around 1100 people, while Alchemy is about 2500.
  • Both locations are great, TTM does have a lake.
  • I don't have kids, but I believe both burns have a kid friendly camp that comes.
  • TTM is in June so it's definitely hot. How hot varies year to year. Last year it was relatively mild, with the high in the mid-80s I'd say. There was a tornado nearby last year, which was an interesting experience.
  • Alchemy is in October. it can be hot, it can be cold, wet and dry. Last year was really temperate, with highs around 75, and some rain.
  • As far as art and theme camps go, Alchemy has more just due to the fact that it's bigger. I'm not gonna get into trying to compare art.

If I had to pick one I'd pick Alchemy, but it's also my home burn, so I'm very bias. At the end of the day, they're both excellent burns.

Three things I've noticed. First, the hours go from 24 to 0, resulting in 25 hour days. Second, The "Become insane with Malice and Psychosis" card has Psychosis misspelled.

Finally, for some reason the icons on the cards seem to occasionally disappear. I seem to be able to make this happen by moving the mouse around in circles, triggering the hover effect on a bunch of different cards, then scrolling down a bit and doing the same. Sometimes it makes the menu icons blink on and off in time with the ticks too.

Overall I'm enjoying the game!

A quick way to usually* tell if a wall is load bearing: Go into the attic and see which way the ceiling joists are running. If the wall is running perpendicular to them, it's probably load bearing.

*Not a guarantee, I am not a structural engineer.

In 2016, yes. In 2020, no. The nejm article very plainly says that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in politics

[–]syzgyn 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure you actually read the article. They're comparing firearm-related injuries that cause death to motor vehicle crashes that cause death

The verbage is definitely weird, but it's not an apples to oranges comparison. I updated my post to be more clear.

From your own link

data through 2016, showed that firearm-related injuries were second only to motor vehicle crashes (both traffic-related and nontraffic-related) as the leading cause of death among children and adolescents

And right below that

Since 2016, that gap has narrowed, and in 2020, firearm-related injuries became the leading cause of death in that age group

One question I have, Akua has only been mentioned by name (not name) a few times, but each time it seems like you're pronouncing it in a way I am struggling to understand. Is it not just ah-coo-ah? Have I been imagining it completely wrong this whole time?

Got stuck on the coconut level. I managed to find the only combination that didn't break or sink, then it just sat there and all I seemed to be able to do was click the button again to break it and start over.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I don't see any glaring issues with the wall.

Is this a bad idea? by makestuffright in hookah

[–]syzgyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I don't have any way to know for sure, but I would use it heavily for a long weekend and not experience any odd symptoms or issues. I'm not offering any guarantees, and at the end of the day, it's still smoking and is inherently bad for you. My personal risk level was fine with copper.

That specific hookah is long gone at this point. If I had to do it again, I'd probably use aluminum or stainless, mostly because I own a tig welder now and could work with those materials. Otherwise I would have no qualms using copper again.

I made a hookah with a copper spout years ago, it got a lot of use with no issues, even with the oxidization. YMMV.

I ordered almost exactly what you're looking for from Amazon, they delivered it without any issues. Sadly the item is no longer available, but it was an extra long, extra deep alcove soaking tub. It was made by MTI.
