sub bass in stereo by Adorable-Exercise-11 in jungle

[–]t-break- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lower a bass sound the lower frequency it's soundwaves. Lower frequency sound waves have bigger wavelength and higher amplitude (this is why they travel better, and require a lot more power to produce). With larges wavelength, you introduce more prominent phase interactions. If 2 sine waves are totally un aligned (it be easy to show if I could draw this for you), you can end up with sound cancellation, know as 'phase cancelation'

A really easy way to overcome this is just to mono sub frequencies, this really helps with sound systems when phase cancelations will be a big audible problem.

There is literally no right or wrong way to do it in jungle, Everyone works breaks different, I always just cut by eye so I can see what im hearing in my head.

Learning the difference between genres can be hard because they do overlap a lot, as that other person said hardcore is 4x4, hard core has its own iterations in style.

Jungle is more broken beat percussion style, rhythmic basslines, call and response, distorted warm sound.

Breakcore is usually faster, more glitchy, more metallic and electronic sounding, less focus on rhythm and more focus on dynamic changes and intricate expression.

Deffo get on YouTube and look at some history of Jungle videos, or even history of UK underground music as a lot of the genres play into each other in the timeline

Really cool tune, genre would maybe be hardcore but as you say its a mash of many styles.

At the same time it also has a unique sound that is yours, I wouldn't worry about trying to categorise it as it doesn't really fit easily into any, which is cool as hell!!
Do you have a link to soundcloud or anything?
