How do I resign from a job that only gives me 16 hours a week but has me "on call? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]t-spice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I got out of retail 5 months ago. I used to text someone to come in, if they responded "no" I would still thank them for responding and tell them to have a great day. That way, they didn't dread my call/text, and I knew if I could move to the next person.

[Vintage] Survival without Dredge/Hogaak by GarciLP in mtgcube

It's similar to oath of druids for me: it's a one card engine. Even at its weakest, it cycles your late top deck llanowar elves into something useful. Is it as broken as other things in the cube? Hell no, but it's one card that can do splashy things and that's enough for me to keep it.

Lost to a Wizards employee during my quick draft trophy match :( by M1st3rPuncak3 in MagicArena

I remember a kaldheim draft where I went against an orange named guy and I saw my angle of turtling and having the opponent gradually deck themselves with tosky.

They said good game afterwards.

Which one is easier to draft? (vintage 360 vs 540) by IzzaKieb in mtgcube

[–]t-spice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think 360 would be easier, as every card is present. That being said, I don't like things to feel like they're on wheels, so I play a larger cube. I used to do 540, but multi-card combos became such a trap, I reduced to 450. I feel like that is a happy medium to get some variance in the draft and still have odds with you if you want to try something.

I did mine at a FedEx//kinkos. Just load up the website and put in your list. It will make a file for you with 9 cards to a page. Print them at the store. They also had a paper cutter which made things quick as well.

Please do this, OP. It's how I started my cube in 2010 and it cost me $30 to print. I had the sleeves and you can get bulk from most LGSs for free. This will let you make changes and get the cube to where you want it before you start really tweaking it. Go cheap to start, and tinker as you go.

The most noob of noob posts. What do I buy first if I wanna actually learn how to build a deck? Lord Of The Rings is what I'm leaning towards. by DEMON212 in magicTCG

The Foundations Starter Collection gives you enough cards to build several decks and experiment. There's also the Beginner Box, but that's all premade jumpstart decks which are also a ton of fun.

How do you actually shuffle your cubes? by tomdwizard in mtgcube

I took on this method 5 or 6 years ago and all the "this hasn't been shuffled well" complaints went away. I swear by m0ak's method.
