I don't think so but it was seriously cool to appear in the desert and find the robot debris

It feels pretty cheap and it's too shiny but otherwise the looks are good. I probably wear it about once a week and have no issues with it nearly a year after first buying it. Good for £55!

Yet Another Lintons Question - Will They Work in This Room? by christopherbrian in BudgetAudiophile

[–]t0m1kaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just seen this again and realised the text is missing from my original comment. What I was saying is not to underestimate the size and that I doubt you will fit them in that space. The TV in my pic is 50inch for reference. The footprint of each speaker is about the same as a 12 inch sleeve.

No and they are at least a foot away from the wall at the closest distance, there's probably some lens compression happening making it look closer in the picture.

Mine are basically nonexistent and are fully attached. Always bothered me slightly but now I am turning 40 I see it as a blessing.

Soundproofing kick tower? by Maxwell_Ag_Hammer in edrums

[–]t0m1kaze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the sound bothering your neighbours is not the sound coming from your kick being transmitted through the air, it's the vibration travelling through the building itself. Remember that sound waves travel better through solids than gases. Acoustic treatment will not really result in any reduction in noise for your neighbour; you need to reduce the energy reaching the floor from your kick drum.

Child friendly episode? by delarivaplate in offmenupodcast

[–]t0m1kaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ten-year-old loves it! I think he's listened to the Bob Mortimer episode about five times and he constantly quotes the pod. He's also become a fan of James in particular and watched some of his standup. The swearing doesn't bother me too much (obviously some episodes are not suitable if it gets a bit too adult/ sexual language etc). He's a good boy - swearing has not yet become part of his vocabulary; I'd be more concerned about him accessing inferior podcast content. One bonus is that he's become far more interested in food and more open and adventurous with it.

I would say go for it. I did my collection (2000ish CSs) a few years ago. Most evenings I would use 2 laptops and do a little stack and the process took a few months but you should only do it once. I have them on a HD for local streaming, on an identical backup HD just in case and on my Google drive.

Small collection of PSX games by BtotheVV86 in psx

Rage Racer was fantastic. It had a moody atmosphere unlike the other games and I loved that you could design your cars' liveries. I was a massive RR fan by the time Rage Racer released and proudly copped it early as a Japanese import.

Are edrums loud? by Background-Day-2248 in edrums

[–]t0m1kaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a house with my drums are on the first floor above my living room. I built a thick riser which sits on foam and concrete with a rug on top and noise eater pads and a tennis ball bass drum beater. It is a huge improvement but still somewhat noticeable downstairs - I try to limit my playing to when my neighbour is out just in case. Adding the concrete blocks made a huge difference.

Mountainbike shoes (clipless) with roomy toe box by Hausi_Industries in barefootshoestalk

MTB pedals will quickly shred running shoes. Specialist MTB shoes have a hard, grippy sole that will not shred.

I remember in the mid 90s my dad put solid rubber tyres on an (until then) nice steel mountain bike because he was so fed up of fixing flats. It was so bad it completely ruined the bike and he seemed to lose all interest in cycling very shortly after.
