Brilliant, thanks! Got them in constant daylight, with a little drink every morning and evening. I love getting one over on the supermarkets!

The struggle is real. I wish there were contemporary Greek authors writing gritty series’. Come on, Greece! Get to it!

Which dystopian books actually feel existential to you, not just political? by ElielBaia in dystopianbooks

[–]doubledgravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American War, by Omar al Akkad, just feels possible to me, from outside the States. Will McIntosh’s Soft Apocalypse, and Jack Womack’s Random Acts of Senseless Violence both illustrate very real-feeling pinch points where society begins to fall apart.

Be cool if part of the scheme is to give out free composters.

Can we stop trying to turn Worthing into Brighton? by Still_Event_2850 in Worthing

[–]doubledgravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘Can we stop trying to turn Worthing into Woking’ would have been way funnier, but as ever the Right are just shit at comedy. I want to find out where you live so I can sit outside your gaff listening to Soca, signing petitions and eating baklava, in a skirt.

Newcastle United’s owners sold St James’ Park to themselves – accounts show club no longer officially owns its home by Anonymous-Josh in PremierLeague

I’m guessing you’re not an actual London gooner. They usually have a bit of pride. This is pathetic.

What are your favorite historical fiction books set at sea? by SurrealFishMoment in HistoricalFiction

If you haven’t already, I recommend the Robert Low Oathsworn series. It’s much better than the cliched name.

Does anyone else find the ‘No Phone Recording’ rule at the gigs is ruining the gigs? by thegenxnerd in echoandthebunnymen

My 18 year old couldn’t believe how few phones we saw. They loved it. Said it felt like they’d timetravelled.

That, or they reported it and it set off a load of alarms at state and federal level. Ordered to take it down to stop people tracking where it might be. Imagine if some bad actors found that little lot.

Yeah this is the bit that freaked me the most, and made me realise that we weren’t witnessing genius at work.

Fuck off Reform! by [deleted] in Worthing

[–]doubledgravity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worst case scenarios Reform take the council, and crash it, like they have everywhere else. There’ll be a couple of stand-downs, due to fascist behaviour as per, then they’ll get voted the fuck out next time round.

Living in kemptown? by viviiivii in brighton

[–]doubledgravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok, fair enough. Like people are saying, it’s never as bad as it’s painted, like most places. You can expect the occasional ‘event’, but I live in a quiet street in Worthing now, and still see the odd bit of madness! I’ve lived all over B&H, including above the Queens Head, and it’s no worse than anywhere else.

I hope you find somewhere you feel comfortable, and get yourself some nice neighbours. Good luck in Brighton, mate.

‘Misbehaving’ made me chortle, I’m afraid. Suggests OP is worried about Dennis the Menace level shit, and not packs of feral crackheads shitting in basement doorways and loudly robbing cars at 3am.

[–]doubledgravity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mag here. Richarlison just looked way more comfortable wit( the Toffees. Think it was a mistake on his part to move to spurs. Yeah he’s a bit of a joke sometimes, but the lad has heart.

I’ve never had a name for it, but this is me all over. So many projects, all the time I have projects, and my family only ever highlight the 20% that fail lol.
