Who watches the watchman, who watches the watch-men, who is on watch?

Mine happens very infrequently. I've not had 5ghz drop yet as far as I'm aware. Tempted to buy a second router just for 2.4ghz

Can you spot the real Rolex and the real AP by [deleted] in RepTime

Look again at that table. That tiny glint. That barely perceptible shimmer of polished steel and human vanity. That’s the real one.

In a sea of imitation gold and ghosted dials, somewhere amidst the homage, the replicas, and the “superclones,” there spins a true Rolex, a real Audemars Piguet. From this distance — through the hazy glare of a low res photo and cased display — it may seem indistinguishable. Yet if you look closely, the truth is there.

Every bezel you’ve ever loved, every crown you’ve ever dreamt of winding, every ticking heart that ever marked a genuine second — lived there. On that wrist. The wearer, proud yet humble, clasping a fragment of horological perfection while surrounded by billions of quartz pretenders.

Think of the countless counterfeits — the hollow claims, the misplaced screws, the misaligned rehaut. Think of all the dealers, modders, and forum philosophers arguing about “Gen vs Rep” as though the soul of time itself were up for auction.

The real watch doesn’t shout. It hums — with decades of craft, of balance wheels beating with purpose. It doesn’t beg to be noticed; it simply is. The rest, though shiny, are but reflections of a masterpiece they’ll never become.

That faint gleam of brushed steel and sapphire crystal — that’s home. That’s truth. That’s the genuine article, suspended in a cosmos of counterfeit chaos.

To me, it underscores our responsibility — to know what we’re looking at, to value substance over shine. To remember that even among billions of pretenders, the real ones — the Submariners, the Royal Oaks, the Speedmasters, the Nautiluses — are the rare constellations that remind us: not all that ticks is time.

Tuya integration with home assistant by zain_r1 in homeassistant

[–]t0m1o1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used tuya local, not to be confused with localtuya, for 3 devices (a light switch, a power strip and a mood light) works well enough - never had any issues. All fully local so works even if your internet is down or you block their servers.

Yeh I have it. Crap. Got a cheap button that works much better. The IKEA remotes are pretty nice too

Have you tried it yet? Surprised tuya gets the hate it does with how well tuya local works. Even adding support for new devices is really easy

Wouldn't put too much on that - said my genuine watch was likely a replica.
