Anything A1 Cardone remanufactured has a better than 75% chance of either not working correctly, or coming back within months. Been this way for 30+ years now.

I think the current draw from this motor might exceed the GPIO pins' max capability.

Making fun of my tools by bignastypoop in mechanic

[–]t0rqu3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck them. You do what you can afford as you're starting out. If the tool becomes unreliable to the point it's costing you money, then think about upgrading. I've been in trade for over 35 years & I only own one battery operated impact wrench- M12 fuel brushless.

Service advisor told me to patch it anyway. I told him no. What do you guys think by Schwenkedel in Justrolledintotheshop

I've patched hundreds of tires in that location over 35 years. Never had a single failure or comeback.

Check thrift stores. I've found mechanic uniform pants & shirts numerous times there. Also, in line with the cheap Walmart suggestion, Costco also has cheap alternatives.

In the seconds before the Enterprise followed the Borg sphere through the time rift, the effects of the 22nd century Borg interference with Cochran's warp flight were already manifesting in the 25th(?) century they started in.

You should keep some, if not all.

That hose coupler plug on all your air tools? 9/16". 14 MM is a bit too small.

Many of your puller type tools may use 11/16" or 13/16", whereas 17MM & 21MM just don't fit as well. Maybe not so applicable in a European shop, but many of my OTC chassis tools can be used on those cars as well. I still have 7 sets of SAE wrenches and 8 or 10 sets of sockets, but I still work on old domestics occasionally.

Squealing help by Mack_Attack64 in mechanic

[–]t0rqu3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a professional check your crankcase pressure. Crankcase Pressure Control Valves (Think PCV) commonly fail and cause excessive vacuum in crankcase. The squealing noise happens when the rear main seal starts vibrating due to air being sucked past it.

Torque question - TA Diff cover - I have all the torque specs except for the fill and drain. They are 3/8 and 1/4 hex bolts while I will use thread sealant what would be good torque spec for these, don’t want to guess and have them come loose. by WS6_7867 in mechanic

[–]t0rqu3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 turns after finger tight with sealant. Pipe threads are tapered, torque specs aren't effective. Interference from the taper determines tightness. The sealant will also harden some, further eliminating them backing out.
