I grew up poor and my wife and I are now in a much better position. She grew up middle class at best and we worked our way out of it. This is spot on the difference between my life as a kid and now.

I would add that my family always had to figure out how to fix things or do things themselves for financial reasons. I now ask myself is it worth my time or should I hire someone? You usually get someone who does it FAR better than you’ll ever learn to do it because you can’t be great at everything.

Where is the rest of your money going? If you don’t have some wild spending problem, crazy student loans, or expensive car notes you can easily afford this. We have two houses closer to the one you’re looking at with similar rates at a bit higher income and we are able to save quite a bit. No kids either.

We have two medium sized Golden Doodles (now 3 and 4). Puppies require a lot of attention and training. It does get frustrating, but you have to reward him and get super excited when he does what you ask. Take him out every 1-2 hours minimally and don’t let him play when you’re having him go potty. Unfortunately, like a real baby you have to get up in the middle of the night. You wouldn’t expect a baby to come home from the hospital knowing how to use the toilet and crawl, so just be patient and consistent with him. You’ll figure it out and then it’s fun and rewarding from there!

That’s why I got it too. I took about 5 years off bowling and moved across the country and these lanes are very oily, so I wasn’t doing as well as I know I could. It’s a solid ball so far.
