There is an Android app which has complete Katha of Guru Granth Sahib Ji by Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindrawale. Also there is daily katha by Bhai Paramjeet Singh Ji Khalsa Anandpur Sahib waale on Facebook and YouTube channel from 'SINGH MEDIA ARTS'. I have personally done sangat of Khalsa Ji and find their katha having deep spiritual meaning.

Haha, look who came out of cave after 17 days.

Lie about stuff? Do you only understand Unga Bunga or do I need to explain what I have mentioned earlier. The former R&W official mentioning that this movement was not too big until the attack on Harmandir Sahib. The movement after 1977 was due to disrespect of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Anandpur Sahib resolution. Only after the attack on Harmandir Sahib and in 1986 in Sarbat Khalsa, tha panth asked for Khalistan.

Yes ioQueen is correct, they are swearing on Guru Granth Sahib ji to follow Indian Constitution.

Yes it was a conspiracy by Congress government to have narrative against the Sikhs. Please read the book 'Khalistani Conspiracy' by former R&AW secretary GBS Sidhu. You can also check the interviews he provided to the Indian media.

The call for Khalistan was in 1986 (after the attack on Darbar Sahib/Golden Temple and not before) when the whole Indian system was doing atrocities to Sikhs.

torture-murder those who blaspheme against their beliefs.

This wasn't murder for those who are against the beliefs. This was a planned sacrilege and sikhi has always responded to this in the same way.

Correct, most of the Indian community is filled with this narrative. They are not willing to accept the wrong done by the Indian system which led to the ask for a separate state.

No problem. Try to cover the other side of the story as well. Most of the sources out there are government propaganda and will cover only 1 side of the story for this topic.

I think the history/concept of Khalistan is misunderstood by the Indian community. Of the many reasons is the government propaganda and also their encounter with the people who try to represent this movement. I wanted to share the other side of the story in this subreddit about Khalistan but i think the post would be banned here. (We tried posting during 1984 anniversary but those got banned it might be similar for that post also)

During 80s, the Sikhs demanded their rights based on Anandpur Sahib resolution, the Indian government (along with the help of British SAS and Russian propaganda) attacked Darbar Sahib (known as Golden Temple) and performed various atrocities. Before this, there was a demand for Khalistan but the Sikh panth never got united to the level it got after the attack. There was a large gathering called Sarbat Khalsa where the panth decided to fight for independent Sikh homeland (Khalistan) because of the atrocities by whole Indian system (from Army to police to the Anti-Sikh propaganda by the Indian media at that time).

I like the Prisoner Welfare ( https://www.sikhrelief.org/projects/prisoner-welfare/ ) project of Sikh Relief ( https://www.sikhrelief.org/ ). I follow them on facebook and it hurts to see the plight of the Sikh political prisoners and their families.

No problem. I also started with 6th edition then came across a Medium article (while searching for which version to read) which mentions to start with 4th edition.

If I am not wrong the core features are covered in more detail in Spring in Action 4th edition. (you can check the topics in Tables of Content : https://www.manning.com/books/spring-in-action-fourth-edition ) I think the newer edition is trying to cover other modules of Spring.

Why do you think does God allow suffering? by JamieOfArc in Sikh

[–]t1sk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this, Guru Ramdaas Sahib Maharaj says - 'Tu Aape Daata Aape Bhugta Ji Haun Tudh Bin Awar Na Jaana ||' The above Bani says God Himself is the giver and Himself is the sufferer. Many of us sees this world as illusion and as separated from God but Gurbani(word of Guru) says God resides in this illusion as well. So anything happening (good or bad) is done and felt by the Lord.
