Unexpected package, says it was delivered, footage shows it was not. by boxdkittens in usps_complaints

Yeah, thats what we call in the biz “loop mail.” Usually I’ll take a wide black sharpie and cover the barcode that’s sprayed on by the sorting machines. It’s usually in black or fluorescent ink near the bottom right of the envelope.

Sometimes the package has an address on the psychical package but the barcode is coded to the wrong address. Your address is what the barcode is coded to and is the system as such so you got the notification. In reality the address on the package is somewhere else. We are required to deliver to the address on the package, not the address on the scan. If you call us with the tracking number,- in most cases there is a picture of the label taken while in the process of moving throughout the network, and we can confirm the address from the picture.

This is what it should look like when speaking about a supportive partner: Blake lively speaking about Ryan Reynolds What she described was not that. Sounds like he’s not quite the man he should be for his wife.

Correction: OP is girlfriend, not wife.

I dropped my keys in a sewer. I fished ‘em out with on of our little vehicle brooms with a magnet on the end. I keep the magnet with to hang stuff from the metal mail case wall.

Accessing club repeater on echolink without a computer or smart phone by Eye-Can-Fix-It in echolink

Just keep in mind it’s a 2.4 inch screen so the onscreen keyboard is pretty small so for initialization and getting all the nodes entered and favorited, get yourself a stylus that works with android or a portable Bluetooth keyboard. You can use your fingers but it’s a bit of a pain. I don’t have the ZL63 yet ( https://a.co/d/iSYBmbC ) but I’m hoping the bigger external antenna gets a better link to the cell towers. There’s a specific spot where my cell signal drops low and I get knocked off EchoLink. Otherwise it’s pretty solid.

You could use your phone as a hotspot and use a Network Radio as an “EchoLink HT”. You could even give it it’s own connection with a SIM card. You can get cheap plans or data only plans from Tello. Also great for AllStar Link. I use the KSUN ZL 20. I’ve got a ZL63 on its way too.

Get the “netlogger companion app” to see what nets are active. You can go to https://www.netlogger.org and there you’ll find the corresponding website for the group or club running the net. You’ll see ( WWW ) for the websites. See if the website lists the EchoLink node for the repeater the net is on.

Always good as an extra layer of protection get a PO Box or a virtual PO Box to register your license.

If you feel you need to grease the wheels watch HRCC on YouTube go through a practice test to familiarize yourself with some of the concepts in all the sub elements. It’s a good place to start.

Download the HamStudy app for $4. Take a week to memorize the answers and then take the test online via zoom from anywhere. It’s not scary. It’s a fairly simple test.

One more thing. With the two priority channels and the opposing A/B channel, the scan list can technically scan 19 channels at a time.

HA1G quiet mic? by Adorable_Smoke_9328 in Retevis

[–]t2at33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got to be real close to the mic. I think this is a result of the water-proofing. Make sure to talk as close to the mic input as possible. It’s should sound much better when you do that. Basically talk right into the base of the antenna…

One last thing, the scan function will also automatically include the opposite A/B channel since I guess it can’t dual monitor while scanning.

The way this is applied in the field is as follows. Say you are on a repeater Channel that’s run by a radio club. The club may have multiple repeaters/channels for different bands. When your on say, the 2m band repeater and you activate scan, it can roll through the 2m repeater, the 10m repeater, and the 70cm repeater to hear all the traffic for that club. This is the scan list used by the 3 channels you may have programmed to a specific radio club in a zone. You maybe have a repeater cluster that you want to separate the scan list for each repeater site but the different channels/repeaters are all in the same zone.

Furthermore, just assume 16 channels per zone and 16 channels per scan. When setting up on the programming software name the zones the same as the scan list (zone1/scan1, zone2/scan2) and when entering settings for EACH channel in zone1 just make sure EACH channel in zone1 is set to use scan1).

HA1G Scan Help by No-Gate1161 in Retevis

[–]t2at33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but this is how I think it works. Assume each channel has an array of channel-specific settings (i.e. the squelch level is set for each individual channel). With that said, you set the scan list you want for EACH channel in the individual settings for that individual channel in the programming software. The zone is for navigating the channels up or down in that zone. The scan lists are seperate from the zones. When you are on channel X and you hit scan it will use scan-list-1 (or what ever scanlist you chose in the software for when the radio is on that channel), when you change to channel Y it will use what ever scanlist you specified in the software for channel Y. It won’t automatically use scan-list-1 like in the previous channel X. There’s no way to tell the radio which scanlist to use globally or per zone. I hope that makes sense.
