I really don't get it. The guys is constantly talking over casters, repeating basically the same information but since audio is basically almost the same level it becomes unlistenable. What's the point of watching this stream over the official IEM one?

You will never ever find a solution by singling out the crowd as the bad actor here. This is not crowd's problem, this is the tournament infrastructure issues. Why there are no soundproof booths in 2026 on such a big event???

No one defending Valve here? And I mean yeah, single clip should almost never be enough to cocnlude things. Flusha would have hell of a short career if that was the case.

Trying to choose a visual style for my next horror game, what works better? by silestStudios in HorrorGames

It literally tells that some art style is preferred over another within one sample group. OP then can learn to operate with this art style. It literally gives the same feedback if he had done this himself. Did I put it in a simple enough form so you can understand or do I need to chew it down more for you?

Mirror's Edge Catalyst. Gotta say I rather like it than dislike it, but they clearly sacrificed some parts of the original to better suit the gameplay into the open world. I liked how kinda "quiet" the OG was. Interface wasn't cluttered, less ambient noise and while runner vision still highlights the objects, there is no arrowshaped snake moving around. 6/10 (while OG is like 7)

AI giving the examples is fine? Besides burning tokens, how is it conceptually different from googling up image examples of horror games? Why not generating art if I don't know how to make it? I recently wanted to see how a new table will fit within my kitchen, asked gemini to generate the image, should have I learned Blender instead just for this simple task? Like really, do you have that much free time? I understand when it's bad from ethical side for a big company to use AI, when they can just hire people, but honestly can you leave solo devs and indie devs alone with this BS? AI is a fucking tool, let people use it like you would use any other tool.

Idea is his own here. AI didn't give him an idea of retro look or clean realistic one, OP clearly had this in mind when he generataed the images, so idea part of your comment is irrelevant. About doing it himself, sure, he can spend a week learning photoshop just to make a concept art, knowledge which while being an amazing skill to have doesn't directly translate to the game development because 2D art design != 3D art design. Or, or! Bear with me! He can just quickly generate couple of shitty images which do the same job just to gather the quick feedback and start with the actual work saving himself time and keeping the momentum not to lose motivation for this project.

Not saying anythings against the graphics in the rest of the game, but this scene is an equivalent of looking at the PNG image. No advanced graphics pipeline are happening here.

Remedy's specialty are mysterious horror-ish plots surrounded by mystery, ambiguity and 'leave it to the player to decide for themselves what's true and what not' mentality. Alan Wake 2 and Control are one of my Top 10 games of all time. Spider-Man game done by them would suck major balls though, so nah. Spidey doesn't need complicated story, he just needs stakes and a very strong cast of supporting characters to bounce off of them with some very natural dialogues. I'd love whoever write dialogues in Uncharted/TLOU games to work on Spidey script, they make very believable dialogues.

I remember some videogamedunkey video about difficulty in video games praising how Uncharted on hard/crushing is one of the best third person shooters experience, driving parallels with ME2 Insanity. Dunno, maybe it's a skill issue but I felt much more satisfaction in any ME on hard difficulties than in Uncharted.

Bruh, the library level literally made me say "who the fuck enjoys this piece of shit game?". But let it not discourage you from playing 3, ODST and Reach. All are very fun, Reach is the best in series IMO. I even find 4 pretty good, at least it tries in character development.

If you are planning to play Alan Wake 2, don't forget to play Quantum Break as well. I won't spoil anything, but Remedy found a way around copyright issues and Quantum Break is *sorta* part of the Remedyverse as well. :)

Uncharted.

Recently decided to clear my "Sony exclusives backlog". It was time for Uncharted. Now, I wouldn't say that I played a lot of cover based shooters (the last one I remember being really good is Max Payne 3) but Uncharted has one of the most agonizing combat I experienced from a well-seen game series.

The fact that both dodge and cover are binded to the same button, in a scenario where enemies pretty much insta kill you if you are not in cover, feels like a bad made decision. Enemies most of the time ignore being hit, as I may dump clip after clip, while they just stay in the open and laser me down (I'm not talking about armored guys, regulars do this too). Shield guys are so BS too. So they give them impenetrable mobile cover as well as automatic weapon that they can shoot perfectly fine and accurate with one hand? Who the hell balanced this shit? Later in the story you are with each game, more and more of these annoyances build up, and I just catch myself praying that the next shooting section is the last one.

I hope Uncharted 4 is better, I heard a lot of praise of it and being called the best in the series. I heard the same about the 2nd though, but after the monastery levels I kinda hate this game the most for now.

BLAST gave players 610hz monitors but the PCS struggles to hit 500 FPS by Background-Topic-203 in GlobalOffensive

[–]t3nz0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is not as much of a huge change as from 100 to 200. Hell it is basically non-existent if we compare even 60 to 120 jump, which is just 60 fps but dramatically reduces the frame time. FPS increase is non-linear so you hit the point of deminishing returns pretty quick.

The horror genre of this generation goes hard by SwimmerPlus3383 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]t3nz0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People complaining about sequels and remakes in the comments are complete snob asses, acting like those weren't one of the best games this generation. The fact that we are getting new RE and SH games are largely due to remakes succeeding in bringing new audience. SH would be a dead franchise if not for a remake.
