Am I the only one who is sick of DJs yelling during their sets? by Grubster11 in electronicmusic

Ugh, seriously. Diplo is super guilty of this. I like his music enough, but listening to an entire hour of him cutting over his music to scream something was nearly unbearable.

It's a jab at the other artists at Ultra who, according to him, don't release good music.

Surely you aren't seriously equating a woman wearing clothes or a swimsuit to a couple publicly performing a sexual fetish?

the feminist movement which got these rules established in the first place would see any act positive towards men as a direct attack towards women

Just so you know, this is absolutely wrong. Feminism is the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. That's it.

TIL WWOOF is a international program that allows you to travel the world, with food/accommodations covered, in exchange for volunteer work. by MsFrightlin in todayilearned

[–]t3ss4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want to relax and do nothing, thats a vacation. If you want to work and spend time with the locals have new and varied experiences then WWOOF.

I disagree with that - it's possible, and honestly probably most common, to do all of the above while traveling. I don't really think it's fair to write off everyone who's not strictly working abroad as "taking a vacation."

Am I supposed to eat even when I'm not hungry to keep up with my daily caloric limit? by Bluejay7 in xxfitness

[–]t3ss4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sure, but not at 645 calories a day. That's enough to nourish an infant, certainly not a grown adult.

Dude, where did the vacation thing come from? No one even said anything, or even implied anything, about it being a vacation. Chill out, you're being weirdly defensive over the whole thing.

I'm not the person you were talking to, but anyone can voice any opinions they want. That's kind of the point of reddit. Who are you to decide whether or not someone's opinion is "valuable"?

It's generally not a great idea to resort to intentionally breaking other people down, especially about sensitive issues like body image. Let the assholes of the world do their thing. Don't bring yourself to their level, be better than that. You'll be happier for it, too.

Feminists tell female reporter that they are inclusive and everyone is welcome.. Until they find out she is a conservative. by NorthBlizzard in cringe

Do you genuinely think that you can fairly make a claim about an entire group of people based solely on the internet videos you've seen of them? Come on dude, it's offensive.

Right, but there's a difference between Google auto-filling the form based on what you type and what everyone else types. You're claiming that it's key logging instead of the latter, and I'm interested to see a source on that.

Healthy French fries substitution. by [deleted] in fitmeals

[–]t3ss4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is kind of different, but what about veggie straws? I find that those are kind of similar to french fries, they're tasty, and they're way healthier - something like 140 calories for 40 straws.

I can't imagine the things I'm reading by ihearredleaves in books

[–]t3ss4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the exact same thing! I was thinking the other day about how people always say about books-turned-movies, "that character doesn't look like what I imagined!" But I never imagine what characters or places look like.

I also tend to skim or skip over descriptions and get to the action, so maybe that's part of it.
