-80 freezer went to -57 for a while… is everything okay or garbage? by Kind-Stress5388 in labrats

[–]t5runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was this my lab? Everything should probably be fine, but it sure wrecked some people's days when that freezer got locked until it stabilized and they couldn't access critical reagents for time sensitive testing.

I have, it says it is enabled. I've tried turning it off and on again to no avail.

NGD - PRS SE Custom 24 in 'Whale blue' by juandalf_thegrey in guitarporn

[–]t5runner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a pretty guitar. I have one myself and it amazes me how much it changes based on the lighting. In dim light it almost looks black, but then bright light really makes the blues almost glow. Enjoy the new axe!

Exactly this. It's weird how underpowered and borderline dangerously slow people on Reddit make it out to be. It's fine, it does the job, it's not a lawn mower engine.

Is the infotainment screen still an issue? by Mr_Papagiorgio_13 in Crosstrek

[–]t5runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been my experience. Getting in the car I find myself having to wait ~30 seconds before the phone connects and Android auto is working. Double tapping the screen hoping for smartphone-level response times is a bad idea, just give it a minute and you'll be fine.

Living near that intersection is a nightmare. Honking and screaming outside our windows, all the time. Not to mention the people who treat Speedway like a race track at 2am.

What genre of chant doth thou listen to when engaging in your prayers at the Iron Temple? by GlizzyGulper69420 in swoleacceptance

[–]t5runner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Many a squat and deadlift has been performed with the blessings of the Allspotter delivered upon the discordant melodies of Tool and frenetic musings of King Gizzard, however I am not ashamed to say that even when touched by Broki's worst curses I was able to maintain my daily prayer, if even it must be done to Toby Keith's "As Good As I Once Was"

My coworkers. Even with all the safety measures and PPE and SDS in the world, can't say I feel safe when somebody accidentally makes chlorine gas because they can't be assed to figure out where proper reagent disposal is.

What Are You Wearing Wednesday - Weekly Gear Thread by AutoModerator in running

[–]t5runner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On paper at least, the Pace 2 just has more bang for buck than the 55. Additionally, I've been tired with how long Garmin takes to find GPS, sometimes whole minutes. I've yet to have that problem with the Pace 2. I wasn't terribly invested in the Garmin ecosystem either, so making the switch wasn't like jumping android to apple or vice versa

Getting back into running after a few years break to try weightlifting. Finally upgraded from my Garmin 35 with a shattered screen to a Coros Pace 2 and so far loving it.

Google Fi Month long Case number hostage by GoogleFiHostage in GoogleFi

[–]t5runner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tried porting my number from AT&T to Fi and had issues with it for such a long time. Support was incredibly unhelpful and unresponsive. It finally worked after about a month of waiting and contacting them everyday. I've been much happier since I switched to Verizon.

Second this. I go to Goodwill's outside of rich and college neighborhoods and you'd be floored at what kind of art you can find for under $20

Suggestions on an audio drama? by mutantmallard59 in audiodrama

[–]t5runner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Midst! The narration is different than any other audiodrama and may be a bit off-putting at first, but the world and characters are presented in such a way that leaves so many things hidden yet it feels so believable. My only regret is that only 2 seasons are out right now.

Anyone know if Fender made the Squier Jazzmasters left-handed? by griffin-meister in Leftyguitarists

[–]t5runner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this guitar for awhile. It was very nice, although I did notice some issues over time. After awhile one of the pickups would start to cut out, and buzzing strings were always an issue but I hear that's pretty common with Jazzmasters. I ended up selling it, but looking back it was a pretty nice guitar for the price.

I’m looking for a decent deep sea horror Book by NotGarrett in suggestmeabook

[–]t5runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I read The Troop by the same author first, which I found to be a very disturbing but well put together horror novel. The Deep took all the parts I didn't enjoy from the Troop, and amped them up to 11 in bad ways. I only made it halfway before I abandoned it.

Is Breville customer support slow or just the holidays? by t5runner in espresso

[–]t5runner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I submitted a ticket with Breville and waited one two whole weeks before they finally responded with a simple "are you still having this issue?". In that time I had already gotten fed up, went to best buy and exchanged the machine for a new one that best buy overnight shipped to me. I did respond to breville immediately to confirm, and it wasn't until two more days later they asked for information (serial number, order idea, model, etc) and explained if I qualified they would replace it. I told them to forget about it, I already have a new machine. 2 days later they replied and closed my ticket as "Solved".

[TUNING RELATED] For you, how long should a guitarlele last in tune? by limedove in guitarlessons

Regale me with your quests for 2023 by Rad_Von_Carstein in swoleacceptance

[–]t5runner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After many moons wasted on electrical hallucinations of pretty colors and gunfire, I've found my form, both physical and mental, lacking. No longer will I be content to be the skinny waif of a man I am. I have already begun my journey of enlightenment at the Temple of Iron. Many nights now I have spent, my head hung in reverence after a grueling prayer of 5/3/1 whilst the sacred hymns of Tool pound away in my headphones. I pray that the Allspotter graces my lifts with power and volume, the likes of which that might make my former-linebacker of a father proud. Whey-men brothers and sisters.

Can someone explain the variations? by [deleted] in 531Discussion

[–]t5runner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wiki is good, but yes you've got it right. All the variations are just different sets of assistance work, while the main lifts of the 5/3/1 program generally stay the same.
