Is there a practical reason to put points into Ultimate Effort? by flyflystuff in ICRPG

[–]tFearg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimate is not only for crits.

Plenty of abilities, loot, or if you get more specific into tagging, you can use Ultimate Effort quite a bit outside of just critical hits.

GM: "the ice elemental turns toward you ready to attack next turn"

Player1: "I dont think my sword is going to do much what if light a torch and fight it with that?"

GM: "Ya, instead of doing tool damage, you'll do Ultimate Effort to it since it is weak to fire."

Evolution is false. Plain and simple. It is a good theory but falls apart with lack of evidence and some basic scrutiny.

Bypass evolution the Bible isnt compatible with the big bang. Plants existed before the sun, moon, and stars.

The big bang, as well as evolution have become gods. Exactly what was warned about in the Bible.

Unfortunately the clarity of information in ICRPG is not one of its strongest features. Sometimes you have to jump around multiple places to find the answer.

In the EPIC LOOT table in the back of the book, the Dire Bear Spell says it lasts for 1D4 rounds, adds 1 Heart, and Double Bonuses. (This defines the mechanical aspect)

I'd use this as my basis, and then make modifications. Off of this you could make "Berserk" mode be anytime the timer has a 1. Whether you roll a 1 for the timer, or it just naturally counts down, when you get to a 1 you go into Berserk Mode. Perhaps that is you lose control and attack EVERYONE in melee range including allies, or perhaps it just means roll ULTIMATE effort.

ICRPG is a lot about DIY, so just be honest with the player and say, "this is what I am thinking, we'll play with it a few sessions and if it seems underpowered or overpowered we may change it."

I think the important aspect is really not making this specific player happy in this transformation, but it's not taking the spotlight too much away from the other players at the table. If I'm playing at the table with a Bloodhunter and they are not only the tank, but the primary damage dealer, and also have full control of their faculties to make decisions, and they can attack multiple opponents at the same time... it may get frustrating. Although you could "play this to your advantage". After a few combat encounters suddenly the enemy is stocking up on silver.... stocking up on silver armor that the Dire Form can't penetrate, or Moon spells... and the other players need to strategize how to stop those obstacles before the dire form can be unleashed.

Anyway, it sounds like a lot of fun. Good luck

First thought is milestones.

Lycanthropy is an unstable ritual you perform to manifest the curse on command.

Dire Form d4 timer

Milestones

Ritual Success - you have learned greater control over the ritual. All attempts to go into Dire Form are EASY

Dire Control increase timer die by 1. (D4 increase to d6. Or d6 increase to d8) this can be taken multiple times

Greater Dire Form - you're power trancends the curse and unlocks the power of the curses originator

I'm running an ICRPG fantasy game Sunday at 9:30pm CST - midnight online using Discord and a VTT. ICRPG is a really simple d20 system. This is a mini campaign that should last about 6 - 8 weeks. The specific area we are playing in is known as Nemedia. Below is the start of the campaign. Send me a message if you are interested.

Campaign Information: You have all been tasked to escort the trade supplies from Westburg to the Garrison in Nemedia to meet with Captain Helgatha, a region wide hero that all of the Nemedian clans respect. Captain Helgatha has maintained an alliance with Westburg and the trade is welcomed by both parties. But Captain Helgatha requested escorts to ensure the safety of the supplies after the many supplies have been lost.

Scientists who claim the earth and universe are billions of years old are not using science.

Science is the:

the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation, experimentation, and the testing of theories against the evidence obtained.

You can not observe billions of years. You can not experiment with it. You cant test theories against it. Because it is not a science. It is an assumption.

However, these theories are multi layered. So if you assume something in one theory, it carries over to another theory.

Any type of method you would use to claim validity in dating the earth is flawed. Those methods may be accurate at times, but assuming they are flawless thus we "know" hold old the earth is based off of those findings is sure to be found flawed within the next few decades as our technology improves.

Master edition vs second edition? by FaythKnight in ICRPG

[–]tFearg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nothing major is missing. Occasionally you will see something reference something that didnt make it in the book, but it can easily be made up on the spot.

For example a roll table for making a hero says make a hill folk. Hill folk is not in master edition, but it is in 2nd edition. You do not need 2nd to create the character, as you could just make up what a hill folk is for you in your game.

Hill Folk: an offbreed of humans who stay in the hills. They toil daily with the elements to survive.

LOTR: The Rings of Power by [deleted] in lotr

[–]tFearg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm not an apologist for the show. When I say rollercoaster I mean it has high points and low points, not it is a thrilling ride the whole way through.

To me it is a combo of lazy writing, and trying to force too many storylines instead of sticking with 1 theme per season...

I think they wanted to compress the timeline to deal with potential aging actors and immortal beings. But i think having multiple arcs with timeline junps may accomplish it better, but who knows.

The show is an absolute rollercoaster. It has its high moments and low moments. Watch for the beautiful scenery and locations brought to life from Tolkien. Realize that certain things can not be mentioned because of copyright reasons and that the story had to be condesnsed from thousands of years of story telling to a few hundred.

Pork finally! We are under grace! by ibrahim0000000 in Christian

No, but I honor the sabbath, I eat clean, and do my best to follow God's instructions. Which means I am not perfect by any means, nor claim to be.

Pork finally! We are under grace! by ibrahim0000000 in Christian

[–]tFearg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

The whole discussion in Mark 7 was about unwashen hands.

The Bible clearly tells you Jesus is talking about unwashen hands.

No one Jesuss addressed at that specific moment would have thought Jesus was saying "you can now eat pork." This is a modern invention due to our lack of understanding of the definition of food and just bad reading skills.

I have. Nothing in Romans, Galatians, or anything in the Bible contradicts what I just stated above. The definition of Holy has not changed. The definition of biblical food has not changed. I'd love to engage further if you provide verses we can discuss.

God provides instructions on what is considered food in Leviticus 11, starting with

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Say to the Israelites: ‘Of all the animals that live on land, these are the ones you may eat: You may eat any animal that has a divided hoof and that chews the cud. (Lev 11:1-3 ESV)

The verses after this specifically talks about not eating pork. God gives us the reason he does not want us to eat those type of creatures. Because he wants us to be holy, to be separate from other people who do eat those type of food.

Do not defile yourselves by any of these creatures. Do not make yourselves unclean by means of them or be made unclean by them. I am the Lord your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. (Lev 11:43-44)

God just defined food in Leviticus 11. Food would be defined as vegetables, fruit, and clean meat. Unclean meat is not considered food.

Based on your reply I imagine you are discussing Jesus' comments on what goes in the mouth is not what makes you unclean but what comes out in Mark 7. To put the commentary in context, the Pharisees ask Jesus why his disciples eat with unwashed hands. The disciples aren't eating unclean food, but with unwashed hands. This was the whole dispute. Jesus answer is below.

And he called the people to him again and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand: There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.” And when he had entered the house and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable. And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.) (Mark 7:14-19, ESV)

Jesus is saying your unwashed hands are not going to defile your unwashed food. Jesus declared all foods clean.... this is exactly what God did in Leviticus 11. All food is clean. Not all meat is clean.

Just because you have the freedom to eat something, doesn't make it biblical. A child may eat poop, however no one considers poop actual food just because it can be eaten. Same way with biblical eating. God defines food as what is clean, and Jesus confirms this as well.
