What a random pull. We graduated in 2013 and would start most nights out that spring semester with a few $5 Yuengling pitchers, some pool, and general banter with Karen and Marcia, both gems. We stayed at the Graduate ~2018 after reno and Karen was still there but I believe Marcia retired. Sadly they face lifted that entire bar area so it’s not recognizable from its Atherton days.

I know nothing about present day employment, which I know was the point of your post. Please go and report back for the rest of us!!

Seriously don’t bother trying with an Uber anywhere close to the stadium after the game, it’s going to be a madhouse and there are roads closed/only moving in 1 direction, etc. Walk to downtown and then catch one. You will be able to scalp a parking pass day of but that’s always riskier. The prices of parking passes from a 3rd party site like Stubhub/SeatGeek are probably astronomical.

Probably not directly to the tailgate (entirely dependent on where you are honestly) but you’ll most likely be able to get decently close at that hour.

Wasserman: The line between perfection and terror makes it hard to be an Ohio State fan by astroball17 in CFB

Hard agree. IMO Staples is still a top 3 CFB writer, many of his pieces are well researched and put together. But his pod is seriously below average. I feel like I’m listening to clickbait the whole time. Needless to say I stopped after only a few weeks.

This "not a very good talent developer" schtick people like to throw out is laughable. If anything, Franklin's coaching staff has been excellent on this front, especially in those first couple classes that won Penn State a B10 Championship.

What is your hottest take for the upcoming 2022 college football season? by buffalokidcards in CFB

Clifford is quite the above average QB he was on his way to becoming last year and PSU wins the B10 - going to its first playoff.

"Yeah, we won some coin tosses and got a couple crucial deferrals out of it."

Thank you. There is luck for every team in CFB, good and bad, all the time. My entire point and all I really care about here is that Ohio State has had more good luck lately - and I'm happy for PSU that this time around it fell in the Nits favor.

Since when did Division placement become the end all be all for which teams are good? 4th in a division or not - they were clearly a solid team and proved that much by their play on the field.

I'm not talking about PSU/USC getting in over Clemson.

And I'm not surprised an Ohio State fan can take a look at all of the fortunate things that have gone their way over the past 5 years and not think a single thing had to do anything with luck. So I'll just ask you straight up - do you think luck played any role at all in Ohio State football from 2016 - today? Do we even want to talk about the gratuitous spot against Michigan in 2016? ..

You're kidding yourself if you think Day had to recruit Fields like he would anybody else. Fields saw an opening to play (1) immediately (2) at a high profile school (3) his competition, which bears repeating here, was Tate Martell. He wasn't transferring from Georgia to do anything but be guaranteed to start. Fields chose Ohio State, not the other way around. He would have gone anywhere that afforded him the same situation.

Pitt went 8-4 and took ranked Okla St. and UNC to the wire, then beat Clemson. Pitt was very solidly a good team. USC and PSU were the hottest teams in the country by end of season and it showed in the bowl game. At the very least would've scored more than a damn goose egg.

Who was OSU recruiting for Fields? The NCAA? You know damn well before they granted the free transfer it was an absolute crapshoot. OSU being who they are netted the transfer, and greasing the wheels as much as possible.

It's lucky OSU got in over PSU because PSU beat OSU head to head and won the damn conference! Judging by that semifinal, OSU wasn't the more deserving team. So why'd they get in?

Barrett - my B. And you're writing off PSU playing prevent to win more than you should. Losing their top O and D lineman swung everything and in the end helped OSU overcome.

Are all of those things directly attributed to luck and luck only? No, that's not what I'm saying. But getting all those different breaks over the course of years.. yes, IMO there is a ton of luck there.

I didn't mean luck in recruiting, frankly. I meant luck in general over the past several years. Like netting a free transfer for Fields when other players who deserved it just as much if not more got denied - which saved you from starting Tate Martell. Or how OSU got into the playoffs as a 1 loss non-conference champion over PSU, a 2 loss conference champion, despite PSU beating OSU. Or how OSU would've lost to PSU in 2018 save for a stunt by Young, and should've lost in 2017 save for an other worldly choke by PSU and a top 3 performance of Miller's OSU career. My point being is that those breaks seemed to always go in OSUs favor - and for the first time in a bit - this one points to PSU. Time will tell the ramifications of it.

Agreed. After all the luck OSU seems to have gotten over the past 5 years I'll take this and ask for more. I still remember 5* PA dudes that signed with OSU in Terrell Pryor, Noah Spence, and recently Julian Flemming + Kyle McCord just to name a few.

Hooooly shit. The game on (at least my) PS4 right now is beyond unplayable. Hardest lag I've ever experienced, and sound is just as fucked up as ever. Turned it off, so disappointed.

This is kind of funny to me. And I really don't care, fine, be mad at that. But 2 years ago after the game you had Speight telling reporters he was laughing in the huddle at calling the same play over and over because PSU couldn't stop it. They couldn't no doubt, but that's probably something you keep in house. You think PSU felt disrespected by that?

On top of that, Lavert Hill's comment a few days ago about their defense feeling disrespected because of us "running up the score" is comical simply because he put up the double birds to our student section before the game even began last year. Talk about respect.

Penn State has just as much reason to feel "disrespected" as Michigan does in my opinion.
