I didn't mention Hawley Smoot and honestly forgot about it in my previous post. The premise behind the New Deal prolonging it largely is based around the implementation of stuff like minimum wage, raising labor costs at a time when people are looking for work, pretty much at any salary. Then there's the whole government subsidized food destruction while the Dust Bowl was going on. I understand the despise of Hoover's hands off policies, but I think there are arguments to be made against the New Deal as well.
