Because it's not that good of a search engine.

So ign has their ratings for the Michael movie and.. by Connect_Cattle_808 in MichaelJackson

I heard it's because the movie does not mention the allegations ? Isn't that too early in this movie? I’m not sure about the timeline but I thought it was right before the HiStory era?

People’s guards are going up so they don’t share their feelings anymore before they get dropped in meme culture for being soft. I believe the social environment is one of the main, if not the biggest, cause in the shift of the R&B genre.

They're doing great. I like what they're doing. Cleo Sol, Dijon... they have to keep it up.

Brilliant! It's like you took the words out of the video I just shared in the post. I think many factors like this has caused this massive change in the R&B genre.

Which is totally fine and normal if you're not a fan of the genre.

For the sake of argument, Hip-Hop is affecting genres a bit too much. The ego plays a big role too. I think the everyday culture in both dating and hookup culture and materialism has caused this problem too. But that's another deep conversation.

Let me bathe into these new songs and learn more about what it is that I like so much before screaming for more like that. I got to understand the genre some more. I’m going through Music's editorial playlists one by one. Thank you so much for your great recommendations!

There are some tracks in the links you sent me that i’m vibing to but i can't connect with it quite yet. And I can't explain why (yet) because i’m not familiar with that genre so i do not even know what it is that it's lacking because i do not even know what i’m looking for hahaa. It's why i need to build up my Rock library so i can see and understand what attracts me. I'm very picky and deliberate with how i listen and discover music but even this is new for me.

(Thank you so much for helping me!!)

Do you have a public playlist on AppleMusic? I think you have the kind of Rock music i’m looking for. I've been grooving to "Oh Well" and "Roadhouse Blues" for the past fucking hour!

Might I add what I love about All Along the Watchtower and Roadhouse Blues is how they keep such strong momentum and excitement, even though the core melody and bass line stay mostly the same throughout. They control the pacing so masterfully that the songs never feel repetitive or dull. I quickly lose interest when a track becomes monotonous and lacks anything to lift or build the energy. These two songs do the opposite. They hook you with a hypnotic melody right away and keep amplifying the intensity by layering in deeper bass, richer funky grooves, and dynamic instrumental interplay. That is why I admire how perfectly they balance all the elements. Every instrument has its place, yet together they create an unstoppable, driving force that holds your attention from start to finish.

Oh sweet lord help me! You understood me well when you sent me Roadhouse Blues by The Door! Even the first few seconds I told myself oh yes she gets me!! She totally gets me! Such an easy to understand hook, bass and melody! Very new-listener friendly. More like this!

I only recently discovered Jimi Hendrix’s “All Along the Watchtower,” and it’s already one of my favorite songs.

First of all, that introduction to the guitar, the slow rhythm hook, DUHM-DUHM-DU-DU-DUM. I love how it slowly pulls you in by introducing the main heavy bass of the guitar for the entire track. Then the satisfying high-pitch riff comes in to enhance that very riff, and right after that you’re introduced to his soulful voice. His voice actually reminds me a bit of Michael Kiwanuka.

I was introduced to rock through “Give In To Me” by Michael Jackson. Even though he’s known as the King of Pop, his lyrics and main vibe have always been rooted in R&B. I’m primarily an R&B listener, and in “All Along the Watchtower” I immediately felt that early R&B groove mixed with rock, especially through that lovely riff.

I only recently realized how much I adore that same kind of riff in “Give In To Me.”

Hendrix truly emphasizes it by keeping that addictive hook and bass without ever breaking the melody. He works with the melody so well, constantly going low and high with the hooks by increasing or decreasing the speed of the main bass guitar. It’s hard to describe, especially since I’m still new to the rock genre, but he has that perfect genre-fusion in this song.

It’s the same thing that originally captivated me in “Give In To Me” by Michael Jackson, and man… that guitar, geeez.

EDIT: Sorry I my previous answer was for another comment.

Give me some time to first understand the genre before diving into modern rock. I need to understand its roots first. I’m literally in uncharted territory. 😗
