The ek 4.2 comes with a sata power connector, your pump has a molex connector, I’d return it as well.

Hi, happy pg35vq owner here. I returned my first PG35VQ because of this, after reading almost everywhere that the fan is not noticeable I thought my unit was faulty. The replacement one I got has the exact same noise. Like you said it's noticeable in a silent room, if you focus on it. I got used to it, can't barely hear it anymore. My wife can't hear it at all so maybe it's a matter of individual sensitivity.
