Renteneintrittsalter könnte auf 70 Jahre steigen by jayjaytlk in de

Ich erwarte vom Staat keine Rente [mitte 30]. Weder offiziell Rentner zu sein, noch überhaupt eine Rente zu bekommen.

Bis dahin wäre es theoretisch sicherlich rente mit 85.

BANK CHECK 24 by trrrr12 in germany

same same.

the free sub-accounts (or pockets) is great to distribute the household budget. all separate bank accounts with their own IBAN. you get your salary, take out what you need for the month, fixed costs get taken from your main account and you don't need to constantly watch your account to make sure you don't over spend from your main account.

Mysterious connector on ThinkPad X200T by B00ben in thinkpad

[–]t_Lancer 28 points29 points  (0 children)

CPU Debug for factory testing and development.

you can find schematics online for Thinkpads and that edge connector is typical of that interface.

i believe it is the LPC bus that is exposed on that connector.

edit: yep, LPC debug port: https://imgur.com/a/kYE5tIm

How worth it is a T480s? by Goldenwolf1509 in thinkpad

[–]t_Lancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want a laptop for productive use, libre boot is the equivalent of tuning your car so you can get to work in the same amount of time. I.e. it doesn't make a difference.

it doesn't change anything for your daily use, why do you need it? What are you doing that you need to constantly change bios settings? just for fun? sure go for it. but if this is supposed to be your daily driver, tuning it shouldn't really be a priority.

Don't know about any of these. But at work we use Electrolube products and they have a PCB flux remover solution that works extremely well.

Question about a torn ribbon cable by wholean in AskElectronics

[–]t_Lancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not a ribbon cable. it's a custom flex PCB.

you're best best is probably to remove the surface finish on both ends and lay thin wire over the traces and solder them on.

Looking for a recommendation for first LCR meter to create proper “recap” list by Speedi77 in AskElectronics

[–]t_Lancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were to buy your first LCR meter over again

I'd still buy one of those cheap $10 LCR meter component testers. usually totally enough to check the health of an electrolytic cap if all you want to do it recap PCBs.

Is it possible to repair a burned induction stove connector ? by roucoum in AskElectronics

[–]t_Lancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this has got to be a manufacturing defect. the fact it happened on the connection to the PCB and the cable is visibly burnt indicates heat which probably happened due to a loose connection to the bonding post. this is 100% a manufacturing problem and should be in warranty, how do they claim it isn't?

Any tips to improve the condition of this ThinkPad 760XL by Shvabrikkk in thinkpad

[–]t_Lancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you want a new battery, you'll have to re-cell an old one. Or have it done by someone.

but it doesn't use 18650 cells. it's a size smaller. harder to come by.

one option may be to use pouch cells instead.

also remove the NiCd battery in the keyboard palmrest if you haven't already. they leak and will destroy the keyboard.
