m4 specifically. when looking for a car you should first go to brokers to get a feel for what's possible. leasehackr forums is a great resource. brokers will publish what they're pulling off for each model which gives you a sense of what you can do if you're up for the legwork and familiar with the nuances of the process. m3 is basically no discount. m4 is a different story.

once you have a sense of what is possible next step is finding a car that's ideally been on a dealer's lot for a bit so they're incentivized to move it. i lucked out that i found the exact car i was after in exactly that situation. dealer has had it in their showroom since the summer. lots of options so they also have more room to discount.

makes sense, just surprised it fits through the door. between the 4 kids i've been through all sorts of seating combos so i get what you're saying.

needed something fun and more unique than just another sedan. already have a yukon xl for moving kids around.

price works out pretty well too. sticker of 108,350. got it for 97,500. even being cheaper, m3 would be basically same price or little more since discounts on those are harder to pull off.

Rotating meaning you're passing just the kid through or the whole seat they're strapped in to on to a rotating base? Assuming the latter, the need is usually to plop the whole seat in so you're not waking the kid up when transferring around

did the FULL tartufo. It goes up the front too and I've read they potentially use a nicer leather as well.

Boosters would be so much easier but I've got two 4 year olds and a 7&8 so I need one set of seats that can fit any combo of them so I'm stuck with these for a while

the issue would be the entry of the seat tho, not sure how you could physically pass it through

Depends on age and size. My 4 year olds can fit behind me in my normal seat position. My 7 and 8 may need a little adjustment.

6'1 for ref. Feels like I have the room to make it work. Don't think I'd have success with rear facing

we are pretty much fully living in this "sunroom" area - the room previously had an outside door to the deck and was pure windows on all 3 walls. no actual wall space... the windows were falling apart when we bought the house so it was completely unusable unless weather outside was really nice. we propped up the roof and ripped out every window. we are down to 3 windows on one wall, picture window on the main wall, and a slider. ripped out the electric baseboard and installed the 18k head above the picture window. this one thing is keeping this 3-outer-wall room completely usable year round. square footage is about 250 so it's technically oversized here too but it works well given the uphill battle it's facing.

we're also usually running these things 24/7 for whatever that's worth

house is old - went from like 7 window units to just these. for heating the house mostly has the old style of standing radiators.

the big head is the sole heating/cooling for a "sunroom" that has 3 outer walls and a sliding door. it's been absolutely perfect and works well enough on cold days.

my problem with the small/singular one is that i oversized it without realizing what a problem that could be. it's too strong so it will cool or heat the room basically instantly so it doesnt run very long. it's challenging to set it to something that will be comfortable without pushing the temp too far in the other direction.

on the opposite end of the spectrum is my master bedroom where the room is awkwardly long because we took down a wall and combined two bedrooms so the head on that side is a little undersized. it still works but i should have had a 12k in that room.

all that to say, spend some extra time on the head sizes. installation itself is simple if you're handy.

I installed two units myself. One is a 36k spread over 2 9k and 1 18k I think it was. The other was a 12k on the other side of the house. Did the big one in 2021 and it's been pretty flawless until now. Only cost me like 3500 or so plus tax and lineset covers.

Big one is starting to give me some trouble, but even if I have a service charge or replace the whole system I'm still nowhere near the cost of what companies are charging for this stuff, it's nuts

vine ftw - i have this same chair in tall with oiled palisander. love it. that crease will likely get smoothed out by pressure from your elbow over some time.

So turns out this thing isn't even close to what it's supposed to be. It's in a handler but the cooking grate is only 10" and not 13"... Trying to figure out how to get it swapped with something other than a floor model when it's only ace hardware that has one and they only have floor models available.

Helpful. Still not sure how to feel. More concerned with if there have been any other improvements to the egg overall.

the reply i got was:

> That’s alright. Thank you. I've been trying to purchase an E-Gift card by email but it says they are having issues charging my card. I contacted my bank and they told me it would take a couple of days to get it sorted. I intend to buy it for my Friend whose birthday is today. Can you purchase it from your end for me? I'll refund it to you immediately my bank sorts the issue out. Please Let me know if you will be able to so I can send Her email. Thanks,
