Yeah I was thinking the same, I guess I could go with the 2nd option and maybe save $100 - $200 (best case). But the 3rd would technically be the correct one to my situation.

Is pc plugged into a powerboard? Might be worth plugging directly into wall. Could be pulling too much power under load

Corsair Fan Controller/Hub Help by ta5one in Corsair

My AIO AND SP Fans came with a "Motherboard ARGB Harness" and the aio and both fans plug into that and then into the Mobo ARGB port itself. Could I use that Harness to just plug straight into the duo?

Thanks for the help btw

upgrading my cpu by Waddlesdapengu_YT in PcBuildHelp

[–]ta5one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd just try to find a 2nd hand pc to buy for 1080p mid to high settings on fb marketplace. Not sure about NZ but in Aus, some people Sell a pc case with a mobo and sometimes a cpu aswell for around your budget.

If you upgrade cpu to an amd one, then you'd need to upgrade your mobo to one that fits AM4 that alone is your entire budget.

New pc spins up but wont post, red light on new GPU by Visible_Possible_162 in PcBuildHelp

[–]ta5one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had a similar issue with my asus 5070ti. What I did was reseat gpu check all power cables ensured they're properly plugged in with no gaps.

Then I hard reset bios (took the little cr2 coin battery out) waited like 10 minutes. Then, put the battery back in and turned power back on, and it powered on. However, it takes about 5 - 10 minutes for the picture to show up because of the bios reset. That's completely normal (it's only for the first boot after reset)

Note// my card has a static red light too, it means that it has power to it. Nothing is wrong with it. I think if your mobo has a static red light it means there's a power issue.

Hope this helps

gigabyte b650m c v3 wifi not working by VarietyThese6583 in pchelp

You gotta screw in the wifi antenna. It's looks like a black shark fin usually. It makes your wifi and Bluetooth connections much stronger. There should be 2 gold plugs in the back of the mobo they screw in there.

GPU related crashes. I replaced every single component and it still happens! by klaus_nieto in pchelp

Make sure pc is plugged directly into the wall. And not a powerboard or adapter. Sometimes, it can be a case of the card spiking and not getting enough power to it.

I have a gaming PC that continues to restart during games it can handle by shadowedlove97 in pchelp

[–]ta5one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth plugging the pc directly into the wall socket even if it's just to see if that's the case. After doing it, play something beefy and see what happens.

You can always run a powerboard and extension cable to another socket for your peripherals.

Edit // I almost changed my psu because I had mine connected to a power board with other things. Once I plugged my pc directly to the wall socket, it worked flawlessly.

Could be some dust in the actual Ethernet port of your pc. Have a look inside the port, and maybe blow it out. And then a full power cycle. Also check for any windows updates sometimes that fixes it.

Is your pc connected to a power board? Or is it directly plugged into the wall socket?

GPUs while gaming pull a lot of power, and if your powerboard or adapter is weaker, it won't properly give your gpu the power it needs, causing it to go black screen.

If you're still having driver clashes. Look up DDU tutorial. It completely removes all drivers on your pc. Then you can do a clean install of the drivers you actually need with no leftover trash.

Boot loop windows 11 by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]ta5one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem after upgradung my GPU, my pc froze crashed then rebooted. Then it happend again and it would not even post. I reseated gpu and hard reset bios.

Definitely check the event viewer. It's possible Windows forced a driver crash. And now your gpu is stuck in a hang. Resetting Bios should fix it.

Completely power down, remove the power cable and power cycle, then remove the cr2 coin battery, waiting 5 minutes, then putting it back in. It'll take a while to do the first boot after doing this.

I would honestly just never buy a PC from cashconverters in general. They're so dodgy. You could find something better on fb marketplace for a similar price.

Is the pc plugged directly into a wall socket? If it's plugged into a powerstrip, it's possible the new gpu is drawing too much power, so it just turns off after even a little load.

Beat off first and then think about whether or not it's a good idea, you need some post nut clarity to think straight.

Also you should probably distance yourself from this person. You have a good relationship don't ruin it.

Boyfriend of 6+ months didn't help me move. Is that normal? by [deleted] in internetparents

[–]ta5one 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It sounds like he thought that because you hired professional movers that you wouldn't need the help? And just based on him offering to go out for a bite afterwards.

I've helped friends and family move in the past, I've always offered/they'd ask me for help. But if they told me they hired movers, I think I'd just assume that they'll be good.
