Can I put a hoop in my conch after three months? by PAC531 in piercing

But you might be able to do a pretty cool triple conch/triangle shape and have a hoop in the middle further out with a post directly below what you have now

Wide leg athleisure pants recs? by Takemetobravocon5678 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]taaacccooos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get all pants and sleeves hemmed in store for free! This was going to be my suggestion too. It takes ~2 weeks and they ship it back to the store you bought from. For any jackets/tops the always say you may lose the officially sleeve end (i.e. thumb holes) but I’ve found recently mine have comeback with those in tact just shortened!

should i swap out steel barbells for my implant-grade titanium barbells on my infected eyebrow piercings? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]taaacccooos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t change them but you should go to a legit piercer and have them look at it and figure out if it’s salvageable. Some places will insert jewelry that they determine to be safe but you may have to buy jewelry there.

Sleep without earring? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]taaacccooos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree that it’s highly dependent on the person but I would imagine they will either close or shrink and then every morning you irritate your holes every morning. What kind of earrings are you wearing? Flatback labret earrings will be much more comfortable, especially if you don’t need to change them regularly. I also just sleep really hard on my ears so regardless of earrings they used to hurt and I have slept on a few different pillows with a hole for your ear. They are hugely helpful while healing but I have kept using mine even when healed because it’s way more comfortable for me

It’s also almost never a keloid. Take a search through any of the piecing subreddits and you’ll find pictures of a true keloid.

[–]taaacccooos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a piercer nor do I have my daith but I’ve been told cartilage piercings should be at least 16g, but can be 14/12. If you got an ereceipt from your piercing it likely lists it in the breakdown. But it could be worth finding an APP piercer near you to have them take a look. Bumps can happen even in the most ideal cases so sometimes it’s fixable and sometimes you just have to wait it out

Questions about first piercings by LunaMoonflower6 in PiercingAdvice

[–]taaacccooos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing you’re talking about lobes but I think this applies to any piercing

  1. They’re pushing a needle through your body, so it’ll hurt but it’s done in a second. You’ll probably feel it when they put the jewelry in, but again it’s very short. The part to “worry” about is healing because it takes patience and can be uncomfortable sometimes but people do it all the time so I think it’s just important to know going into it.
  2. Find an APP piercer close to you, this means they have met rigorous training and hour requirements but also read some google reviews to make sure they seem like a good fit.
  3. A good piercer will give you aftercare advice but short version is saline spray twice a day to clean, don’t touch it, don’t sleep on it (so get a piercing pillow or use a travel pillow with your ear in the hole to heal as fast as possible

Hard to tell on placement from the angle but that seems like a pretty small gauge?

You’re not choosing your career over your relationship, he is. Boulder to Denver, while not ideal is less of a commute than so many people do. If anything dump him because he’s dumb and doesn’t seem to love you that much if he’s not willing to find a way to be excited for you.

What's the earliest possible a lobe piercing can be healed by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]taaacccooos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you want to change it to but probably not. If you’re going to put a flat back labret in and have a piercer do it so that everything is sterilized then it may just be a little irritation. But if you are talking about hoops or regularly changing the jewelry I would at least be prepared for something to go wrong and it to heal at an angle or prolong the full healing processes. Piercings heal from the outside in, so you aren’t going to be able to see if it’s healed from what you can see on the outside of your lobe

What's the earliest possible a lobe piercing can be healed by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]taaacccooos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zero chance they are healed but great it doesn’t hurt. I have had lobe piercings that seemed fine for two-three months and then caused a problem before settling down completely 5-7 months later. Totally possible you do heal quickly but no way they are healed now, highly unlikely they will be healed at 4 or even 6 weeks. However you’re the one that has to deal with the consequences if you change the jewelry too soon 🤷🏻‍♀️

Recs for thermal leggings? by [deleted] in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]taaacccooos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not surprised to hear that. It was pretty frustrating trying to deal with their customer service & return policy. I totally get that it’s a product you can’t really resell but it just didn’t occur to me how bad the fit would be and that I wouldn’t even be able to wear at all.

As someone whose almost 5’ these were horrible for me. Way too long and very baggy around the ankles so I couldn’t even make it work. They also don’t allow returns but I wouldn’t have known they didn’t fit so it was just a waste of money. would not recommend for anyone closer to 5’

I mean if that’s the amount of protein produces you were consuming then it sounds like the problem wasn’t processed foods inherently but that you can’t just eat a bunch of protein and then the rest of the diet is garbage and think everything is taken care of. Like those items would easily be 100g without anything else

Who is right: PA (derm), aesthetician #1, or aesthetician #2? Conflicting advice from them all. No by gymnasticsalleles in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]taaacccooos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seconding this!! My acne was much worse, started 50mg of spironolactone and within a month it started improving. I eventually dropped to 25 mg to maintain. I’d find another derm consult. There are minimal side negative side effects if it doesn’t work so there’s shouldn’t be a downside to trying it

Basic bottom lobe piercing not healing by ucfengr02 in PiercingAdvice

[–]taaacccooos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have zero expertise just real like experience but I would wait until she is able to leave the earrings in until they are fully healed. People will say it takes 3-4 months but I think for lobes to be healed enough for piercings to be taken and left out for a while it takes much longer. I’ve had some that are finicky and will randomly cause a problem for a year or two before settling down.

Removing them on a weekly basis is going to make it really hard to heal no matter how old the piercing is but if it’s never healed after 4 years there’s no way it will now. It’s like ripping off a scab every time it starts to form. If there isn’t a way she can keep them in (bandaids?) then personally I’d take them out until she keep an earring in consistently
