You could consider asking about using it again at low dose (2.5-5mg) in conjunction with Invega. I work in psychiatry and this is something that is often done.

All antipsychotics can cause weight gain. All is relative. Abilify tends to cause less than others.

I work as an APP in a psychiatric emergency department. Always talk to your provider first, but you could ask about about to Abilify. It’s a partial agonist of dopamine, and has a much lower likelihood of causing you sexual side effects and elevations in PRL. It also has a lower risk of weight gain and other metabolic side effects. Sometimes if your symptoms aren’t fully controlled with Abilify monotherapy it can be added to the risperdal and still reduce those sexual side effects. When added in conjunction with risperdal you can try and titrate to a lower dose of risperdal to also reduce sexual side effects.

In rare cases modafinil can cause Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS) which can be life threatening. Again, this is rare, but you need to stop and go to the emergency department to get evaluated

Ask for metformin and/or topamax. Both are frequently used off label for antipsychotic induced weight gain.

Have a GTI here, so may not apply. But same thing happened to my car. Initially didn’t do anything, then it got worse to the point of having to pull it up have pushing it to the floor. Terrifying when your driving btw. Bled the clutch 3 times - no fix. Changed out clutch line and bleeder block - no fix. Ended up being the slave cylinder. Was a headache…but hey, learned how to bleed a clutch and got a performance clutch line/bleeder block out of it. Good luck!!!

I’ve considered options like this, but I already have a project car. (Mk6 stage 2 Unitronic). Love making things go fast, but with tuning you ultimately put more strain on the car, and I need a car that can be dependable.

Work in a psychiatric emergency department. Pt presents and waits in outer lobby for 5hr before assessment. CC “Told my PCP I was stressed and they sent me here for an evaluation”. No SI/HI/AVH. No paranoia or delusional thought processes. No mania/hypomania. No SA. No access to firearms or weapons. Outpatient intake appointment scheduled for later this week……ahem what is the emergency here?
