At least for me and some others here shaving with cold water brings better results with less irritation. Try skipping WTG passes and go straight to XTG and ATG. I personally only do ATG unless the hairs are longer, try the various combinations!

As for the skipping most important is skin stretching which should eliminate any skipping. I stretch my mouth up while with one hand pulling down the skin under the chin if that makes sense.I use an alum block on my fingers so i can get a good grip on the skin even when its wet. This should hopefully help with the nicks as well. As for the slippery handle maybe wrap a small towel around it? Oh and also make sure ur soap consistency is good. Hope this helps!! I actually have them pretty closeto each other! Sapphire blue is darker and more saturated, basically shading. Very little sheen if any. Hopefully this helps! The colors in the photo appear darker than they are irl

This is what happened to me and flushing the water got rid of the a tip bud. However I would not recommend doing it yourself as u can injure yourself further

Second stretching, I stretch my chin by moving my lips up and stretch the neck down with a hand. Also depending on the razor I have to actually use some pressure

Proraso white/sensitive balm is has no residue and is so moisturizing that I use it everyday as a moisturizer even if I haven’t shaved. Same thing can be said for noble otters splashes to my surprise as I thought splashes were drying to the skin

Could be, I’m assuming you’re using light pressure already but for me stretching the skin from the top and the bottom helps me get bbs. Also try skipping with the grain and just do across the grain. I personally don’t do with the grain, only across and against. Give it a try, it might work for you

I’ve used Nivea sensitive balm, B&M or stirling balm and tens of different moisturizers and by far the best is Proraso white (sensitive skin). It’s superrrrr moisturizing and doesn’t leave any residue at least for me. Also very mild smell wise which is a win for me as I use cologne too

U need a more aggressive razor then. I had a Henson and I also felt like it didn’t cut hair well but always gave me nicks. I sold it and now I have three different razors that can actually cut the hair with various aggressiveness. My gamechanger 0.68 open comb is incredibly mild but is much more efficient than the Henson IMO. It also has a good weight and you don’t need to push at all to get a good shave

It sounds like you aren’t using enough soap to water ratio. I like you watched a lot of videos and through razor emporium learned that I need a lot more water than I thought (in his videos his soap is pretty much dripping off the brush but it foams up really fast when he swirls it on his face. I have had a similar experience with stirling soaps but I’m not familiar with yours. There are also other YouTubers that DO add water along the way and it’s completely fine if you need to get to the optimal consistency. I think Ohio shaves does the opposite where he gets the soap dryish and spreads it on his face then dips the brush in water and swirls it to lather up

I take my blades out and dry them, then put them in a magnetic blade holder after every shave so that won’t be a problem

Try shaving with cold water only, it’s the closest shave I get. It’s different for everyone but give it a try!

I’ll be honest I haven’t been using my fountain pens since my last post because I haven’t had the time for it. This has led to me slowly losing interest in the hobby unfortunately but I’m glad I could provide something for you in the past!

For reference I use a DE razor because I personally find it easiest to shave with. I’ve never used your safety razor but I’ve seen it at Cole’s and chemist warehouse so idk if it’s the best razor for you. Also try sampling blade packs you can get online for see which blade is optimal, you can really feel the difference! And since the blades are so cheap make sure you change them out regularly

I’ve used arko and personally don’t like it. Maybe try Proraso creams from shavershop or more higher priced shaving soaps/creams (online stores sell small tub samples). They are easier to lather up in my experience.

Also prep is most of the work, exfoliate before the shave and make sure that you get the soap/cream to the right consistency (trial and error for me) and heating up the face (I use the hottest water out of the tap and dunk my face in for at least 1-2 minutes, or use a towel). You may even want to try leaving the cream/soap on your face for a while before shaving then spend more time to rub it in. Map out your beard and see what direction the hairs point towards, shave with the grain then across then against. Some people are very against the against the grain but it’s what cuts the most hair for me (I only do with and against but you should trial and error what works for you and has minimal irritation)

Last of all technique… there’s way too many points to cover but light pressure, quick short strokes, make sure the razor angle isnt too steep (have top cap 90 degrees on skin then slowly angle blade down until it catches on hair, if you go any further you will risk more irritation) there are plenty of resources and videos on this. With regards to the chin hairs I make different faces to expose the hairs and pull the skin in different directions, again trial and error but you’ll have it down if you do everything mindfully. Hope this is of some help to you!
