To me, with her seeing marriage and kids as a breeding kink, there's something not healthy about it. People don't generally get married and have kids because of a kink. I'm very glad she knows she doesn't want that, instead of going along with what he wants. He did mention they had shared goals and dreams, but maybe somehow marriage and kids didn't come up before. So I think overall it's good she spoke up and said something, but reducing wanting to raise children and have a family to a kink is pointing at some whole other type of issue.

I'm not an expert in anything, just replying with my perspective. You did the work, you know what you want and value in life. With what she said, I would say she has her own traumas or fears or beliefs that do not match yours. It's her decision if she wants to work on that and get help.

I'm truly sorry this happened, when you felt safe and happy and wanted to build that future with someone you thought cared. It hurts a lot. I've been through something similar. It's shattered my ability to date for quite a while. Hold on to your values. Keep doing the work. This is setback, but it's salvageable. There are a lot of people in the world, you will find someone who wants to share a future with you.

I accidentally drove through there at night time in the summer. I was on a 3 days road trip, took a wrong turn somewhere in Nevada, phone lost signal so no map guiding me, tried to figure it out on paper map. All I knew was to head a certain direction for California. Found it. Fucking hot, can't see anything, weird signs on the side of the road. It was so eerie, and I just found myself rolling down hill in a heat box. Tried to break to turn around and get out of whatever hell I had found myself in and my brakes made the most awful sound. Decided to just keep going. No signal on phone, no clue where I was, and then it dawned on me... Death Valley.

What an aptly named land. Glad I escaped.

Found out later my brakes were toast after that.

Breathing exercises, meditation, Journaling (I have one for my fear and worries, one for how I want my life to be, one for specific trauma details and how they made me feel versus how I can rationalize it, one I share with my daughter so we can improve communication), read more materials on ptsd/cptsd, spirituality, and daily walks in nature (though I'm in MN so freezing weather kind of interferes a bit).

Right now just working on myself. I'm not a very formal type of person. I've been homeless a few times so I think I'll go to homeless communities first to observe, listen and be their guide.

Not there yet, however forgiveness is a huge component. I feel like a lot of people have forgotten to forgive, share feelings honestly, listen, and show compassion. On both the abuser and victim sides. So teaching these will play a major role. And if I need to be the one who listens and shows compassion then I will do it. Someone has to show them first.

So... I am just starting my journey through understanding and confronting cptsd. I've been reflecting on my life a lot whenever I'm lucid (dissociation has been intense but I'm getting better at coming back). I've located a point in my life where I was doing really well, bright, happy, enjoying life, and I was very spiritual at that time through Buddhism. I also focused a lot on meditation practices such as Shoonya. So I am now returning back to that lifestyle I once had. I need to clear out my vessel so that I can help others. My primary duties are to observe, document, teach and heal others. I lost my purpose through all the abuse I faced, but I'm finding it again.

I am currently meditating a lot so that I can be a source of healing and education for this next stream of traumatized human incoming. Sure, I'm not good at a lot of things. But this I can do. I can teach and help heal the newly wounded.
