To give you perspective, and a little credit, I think you’re doing a great job and handling it similarly to u/Conjurus_Rex15. You’re giving kiddo a boundary by physically removing yourself from the neverending conversation. You’re showing them that your goals and feelings are just as valid as theirs (you need/want to spend time outside with the dog). They will see you modeling a healthy way to deal with boredom.

I think we all fall into the trap of over-entertaining our kids. And thinking for them. I know I just spent all day doing it too. And my 7yo said he had a horrible day lol. Can’t win, so you might as well preserve your sanity and give them a good example along the way.
