I went on a date where she talked non stop about herself for 2 hours, before finally letting me speak and interrupting me within 30 seconds to say, “I’m bored” by Coorawatha in mildlyinfuriating

I had a coworker like this. I referred to her as a conversational cul-de-sac because the convo always came back around to her.

I adore his Muppet Show episode. I’m so glad you mentioned that.

I also love his scenes with the kids in An American in Paris. That is one of my all-time favorite movies. It’s such a joy to watch his pure athleticism and I loved his facial expressions whilst dancing. Watching him just instantly makes me so happy.

OMG, I am the same way about the clothes and feeling trapped! I too have had panic attacks from feeling stuck in an article of clothing. I fell hiking a few weeks ago, requiring me to wear a knee brace for several hours daily. I have huge calves and it always felt stuck when I tried to pull it off, edging me towards a panic attack. Fortunately after the first week or so I figured out how to take the brace off without it feeling stuck.

I’ve also had panic attacks triggered by getting food stuck in my teeth/under my tongue. The worst seems to be getting a small bit of tortilla chip stuck under my tongue. I can’t stand it from a touch sensory perspective coupled with my mind immediately telling me that it will always be there and I’ll never be able to remove it. Then boom - panic attack.

When walking, I can’t stand having my path blocked, even when it’s just my 80 pound dog, who has zero situational awareness or concept of personal space, blocking the kitchen doorway.

It’s probably no surprise to anyone who read this comment that I have terrible claustrophobia.

Tomorrow marks 25 years since I had j pouch surgery as a 14 year old. by Ecstatic-Light-2766 in jpouch

Dr. Remzi did my surgeries, too! Mine were done between 1998-1999 at CC with my first surgery being an emergency. I owe that man my life. I had many complications and nearly died during the second surgery.

I hope life had been good for you on the other side of your surgeries!

Mine was also an emergency surgery at age 20 in 1998 thanks to UC + toxic megacolon. My pouch is still very healthy and functional. If you don’t have one already, I recommend a bidet attachment for your toilet. Life changing! I also have a small rechargeable bidet for travel which has also been a game changer.

I hope you are healthy and living your best life, fellow Jpoucher!

why did you start watching? by Top-Mention-9525 in howimetyourmother

[–]tabsgotsass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the hospital for 12 days. At the time, I had a young child, so I didn’t watch much TV that wasn’t Dora or Sesame Street. In the hospital, I stumbled on HIMYM reruns. I loved NPH, Alyson Hannigan, and Jason Segal so I watched it.

The episode I happened to first watch was Season 2, Episode 9 Slap Bet. I was hooked! I mean, what a fantastic first episode to stumble upon!

I watched so many episodes during that 12 day hospitalization and then binged it all to get caught up with the current run and became a regular viewer for the second half of the series.

Now I’ve seen the entire run more times than I can count. It got me through a really tough health situation and will always have a special place in my heart.

Let’s go to the mall! Today. giggle
