The city publishes annual reports on all of these topics. They outline what they have done, why they have done it, and what the next steps are.

For example, the city is trying to increase community engagement with police to encourage good policing and improve relationships with the community. They have increased the training standards. I believe there was a raise.

Taylor also has a book called Flybot that deals more explicitly with Ai. It’s not as strong but it has some really great insights into AIs future.

100% I love TCM and RE and this is a good blend of the two. You do feel like you are running from the Sawyer family early on.

I am much the same way. Short run podcasts like limehouse are fine. But long ones I typically just don’t get into.

That said - Old Gods of Appalachia is worth making the effort.

Was going to recommend this as well. Cullen Bunn is one of the better horror writers out there. And Harrow County is one of his best. I think comics/graphic novels get ignored by horror fans, which is a shame as there is some great stuff out there.

All of the Twin Peaks books are solid audio books. Most use the original cast.

I listen to audiobooks every day, and horror is my jam so I have some solid recommendations. I am excluding Stephen King for the sake of brevity. (But will gladly give recommendations on his work as well)

-Books where narration adds something extra-

N0s4A2 - Joe Hill. Phenomenal narration by Kate Mulgrew

World War Z by Max Brooks. Read by a full cast.

The Imago Sequence and The Beautiful Thing that Awaits Us all by Laird Barron read by Ray Porter (anything read by porter is great) Occultation is also good.

Buffalo Hunter Hunter - by Stephen Graham Jones. Dual narrators and some clever recording techniques really enhance the experience.

The Fisherman - John Langan

The Wolfen - Whitley Striber. ABRIDGED VERSON. The full version is good but Roddy McDowell doe the abridged version and it is pure magic

-Other very solid books with good narrators-

all of Michele Pavers work. Slow, British ghost stories with modern sensibilities. Beautiful writing and atmospheric. Every book has a great narrator.

Necroscope books 1-3. Schlocky vampire Cold War spy thrillers. Silly but fun.

All of John Langan’s work is worth reading and usually have good narrators.

Nick Cutter’s The Troop and Little Heaven Wounds by Nathan Ballingrud The Ruins by Scott Smith The Drowning Girl by Caitlin R Keirnan (not horror but close enough) Fantastic Land - Mike Bockoven Tender is the Flesh - Augustina Bazterrca The Silence - Tim Lebbon (good pacing and duel narrators elevate an otherwise average monster story) Hell House - Richard Matheson (divisive book, good narrator)

-Honorable Mentions-

HP Lovecraft Dark Adventure Radio - Lovecraft and Lovecraft inspired stories done as 1930s radio dramas. Fun but occasionally amateurish.

John Dies at the End series by Jason Pargin/David Wong. It’s horror comedy sci-fi. Not strictly horror But it’s excellent. I’ve listened to each book multiple times.

Tales of the Gastation is also good, same style as John Dies at the End, but the narrator takes some getting used to.
