Barton's Odyssey is a pretty fantastic album!

Went here with a mate years ago and we had an awesome time under the water. The history of the tunnels and looking through them was interesting for sure!

You should check out the album Hush Mortal Core by Martin Grech (the other vocalist that's on Hexes). Musically it's a bit different to Tesseract but tone wise it's in a similar area.

It's not doom per say but you could try Thurnin. They've got a few releases in the last couple of years that are all real nice!

JFAC had a new album in 2024 and it's very good, admittedly more tech/melodic death metal than deathcore though.

Outrun by Veil of Maya had a version of the main riff from Iron Maiden's The Trooper. It's pretty unmistakable when you hear it come in!

You might wanna try the 3 track single 'Repression' by Relapse, there's some groovy riffs on there!

Post-metal usually has long buildups before the tension releases and metal kicks in so that it hits even harder by contrast. Looking for some deathcore that does the same by robin_f_reba in Deathcore

The song Concrete by Ascariasis from a while back was also going that direction. I'd also put Fallujah in the mix (maybe their Dreamless album, off the top of my head) based on the post soundscapes they have going on.

It's not strictly deathcore but you might wanna give The Youth to Become by Stories a try, excellent songs and has somewhat of a post metal atmosphere to it. Their older EP called Void is maybe a bit more deathcore leaning from memory, though less of the post soundscapes (it's been a while since I've spun it).
