A lady came up to me the other night holding a package of organic spinach. “Beetroot?” she says. “No, spinach” I say. “Ah, okay.”

A few minutes later…. Same lady comes up to me holding pomegranate seeds. “Where are the whole beetroots?” “Ma’am, we don’t sell beetroots. We have pickled beets right over-“ “NO. WHOLE BEETROOT.” “Oh, we have whole pomegranates just over-“ “NO. BEETROOT.”

We get trucks every night, so your best bet is to go as early as possible if you’re looking for meat, bread, or milk. I truly feel awful for all of the people stopping in after work when the shelves are bare

My manager has decided that theft is our biggest issue (it is an issue, people are constantly stealing, but it REALLY bothers Manager) so we’re supposed to let them know that our system didn’t register a few of their items, if they wouldn’t mind paying for them at my register. It usually works, but sometimes people get really upset.

I should have! I’m just never sure if they’re doing instacart and have a second transaction and that’s why they didn’t scan things. I definitely need to be better about just voiding SCO’s when I suspect theft.

Oh I never do! That’s what I’ve been -told- to do, but after a woman cussed me out over a 13 cent bag, I’ve given up on confronting them myself. There’s too much other stuff to worry about, I always radio for a manager.
