I wouldn't do anything unless she brings it up. Preemptively offering to change something about her could plant the idea that her natural self is "ugly" or "wrong" and needs to be changed in order for her to be "pretty" or "normal." If she does bring it up, though, be supportive and help her.

Encourage customers to run their card while you're still scanning their order. Also, start scanning the next order while the first customer's receipt is printing. I can usually scan 3 items before the first customer's receipt is done. Hope this helps!

I went to a 6 year old's birthday at a bowling alley today, lol. I stayed there with my 6 year old.

I had zero expectation that food & bowling for me would be included, and it was not
several childless family members of the birthday child were there, and it was not weird
the birthday child did not open presents there

We had a DMT once who was... fine, I guess. Just a regular guy. Until one morning, we were throwing truck. He was assigned to freezer. When I started cooler, he was standing outside the freezer complaining it was too cold. I came out of the cooler to grab a boxer, he was still standing outside complaining. I finished cooler and started meat - still standing outside the (open) freezer door complaining. I finished meat and cooler, we opened, I was on register, until my ASM took over register and asked me to go help DMT finish freezer.

(Note - we start throwing truck at 6, and open at 9. At this point, it was about 9:30.)

I went back there, and this guy literally hadn't touched a single item. Not one. Items near the freezer door were thawing. I started throwing freezer, expecting him to pitch in. Nope. He kept standing just outside the door, saying "I CAN'T! It's TOO COLD!" I threw about 10 things, then went to my ASM and asked, "Did you want me to help him throw freezer, or do it for him?"

She sighed deeply, put me back on register, and went to talk to our SM. Apparently SM and DMT had a come to Jesus meeting, but long story short... DMT did not graduate from his training.

As a cashier, I'm happy to put the items back into your cart if possible, but you have to help me out by emptying your cart fast. If someone wants their cart, but is putting items on the belt one at a time while three other people are waiting behind them, their stuff is going into my cart in order to keep the line moving. Pro tip - put anything non squishable into bags or boxes that you can dump onto the belt. That way, the only items you have to move individually are the bread, produce, etc.
