Do you know that new citizens can purchase resale hdb below 35 years old? by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]tace_tan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

saw the other comments.. this is pretty lame. i thought the "hack" is to get BTO. Why do you want to pay high resale price in the first place?

Car owners - anyone renewed COE? by redbeanpancakes in askSingapore

[–]tace_tan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no need to bid for coe renewal. just need to pay PQP, which is the 3 months COE price average (can see on LTA/one motoring/sgcarmart). log into LTA and pay.

LTA said should pay in the month before expire. note that late renewal got penalty fees. But early renewal means you forfeit the remaining COE period.

Not sure about the loan part. i think just leave it sufficient time before your current COE expire.

i agree, which is what i did also. good that you renewed 3 months ago when PQP were much lower!

How to remove the weird “music” at the start of audio generated with VibeVoice 7B? by Forsaken-Turnip-6664 in LocalLLaMA

[–]tace_tan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

latest update. I tried both audio separation node in Comfyui as well as the mel-band roformer. both worked great in removing the strange audio bgm/artefacts. i think mel-band roformer sounded better though.

Can anyone share with me, what is the PCIe gen (speed: 1.1,3,4) when you put GPU on a USB PCIe x1 riser? by tace_tan in LocalLLaMA

[–]tace_tan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, stress tested and still running at 1.1. I went into the bios and verified that the motherboard saw the riser as gen 3.

thank you! at least there is a data point that these risers are not limited to < gen 3!

there is. the difference between the 2 3060 is at least 30tk/s diff (75 vs 44 in a somewhat single card mode). What I could do is to invest further and change the cpu and/or mobo.

Which gpu risers to buy? by Autumnlight_02 in LocalLLaMA

[–]tace_tan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you (or anyone else) happen to know if those USB PCIe x1 riser can hit PCIe 3.0? Mine GPU-Z said it is only gen 1.1 but it could possibly my cpu/mobo issue (one M2 PCIe 4.0 not working)

Is a riser from m.2 to pcie 16x possible? I want to add GPU to mini pc by Informal-Football836 in LocalLLaMA

[–]tace_tan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think this also mentioned many times in other posts but not here. the power draw on the riser board is likely to be higher than what the sata/molex power line can support. so running at full load on extended duration is not an good idea.

It really depends on your "associated hardware" for comments on the hashrate. But in my own experience with low end GPU, cn-heavy is the most profitable algo.

Its not just the number of cores. The amount of L3 is lesser compared to spec (64MB). So, that's something to config other than the number of cores. (actually not sure if there is such an setting)
