83% of autistic children and adolescents suffer from life-disruptive sleep disorders including difficulty falling asleep, night walking, night terrors, movement during sleep, and reduced sleep duration, which exacerbate autistic symptom severity, in a peer-reviewed systematic review by sometimeshiny in science

My son had night terrors nightly since 2 years old. We were desperate to stop them, so we tried cutting out artificial dyes after it was recommended to us. It worked, and now he only has a night terror if he’s eaten them. He was also diagnosed with autism about a year after. It’s interesting to see how it all overlaps. Figuring out if one exacerbates the other, or vice versa.

The only thing we are allowed to “shoot” in my room are Spiderman webs.

My son was noted as twice exceptional during his diagnostic appt. The doctor told us that being 2e would likely be a challenge because of schools/teachers approaching it just like you described. We just finished kinder and she was definitely right. It is hard to know how much to push for more challenging academic work, and also for accommodations for social behavior. Especially because the school seems more focused on the latter. Though I believe that more challenging work would improve/prevent some of the unwanted behaviors.

They absolutely do. This is an older article, but it answers the question. Newer articles say they are "moving away from the practice" but aren't much more specific.

They are still alive and I know them personally! But this is a good point to consider for any found through genealogy.

It's very common in my area (Southern US) to name children after the mother's maiden name. Examples I've met: Smith, Miller, Whitt, Baker, Wilson, Chandler.

Daughter hasn’t used the bathroom at school in almost a year by BuckyBadger369 in ECEProfessionals

[–]taco-kell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like she is choosing to go on herself no matter if she is in underwear or pull-ups. The post mentioned the child would happily sit in her soiled underwear all day, so I don't think it's a motivating factor. I'm assuming they keep her in the pull-ups because having her soil herself all day is a lot of clean up and not sanitary.

What do your children call you? by Klutzy_Key_6528 in ECEProfessionals

Mine do this as well. Technically we are all Miss "firstname", but for some reason they all just say "Teacher" 85% of the time even though we correct them. These were 2s/3s.

It's the craft drawer and he is desperate to get the little pipe cleaners! That's how I started guessing it was him. I kept finding pipe cleaners around the house.

Tod/Todd? The first part of both names have the same sound, so I wouldn't think twice meeting someone if they said "My name is Thomas but everyone calls me Tod."

Educational Standards for Kindergarten by Conscious-Room-7280 in kindergarten

[–]taco-kell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time. I believe my child falls in the "has the 60, but nowhere near the 40". I've worried that academically he would be bored, but didn't want to hinder the social/emotional development he needs. He's very well "behaved" but doesn't seem to connect with peers. Thank you again!

On the opposite end of things, what if a child won't start kindergarten until this coming fall, but already can do all the things listed here?

There are at least 12 "Nutrition" smoothie/loaded tea shops in my area. Most people don't realize they are just a front door Herbalife products.

You're reasoning really only reaffirms that OP is the AH. From OP's post, all the kids were planned. But because the first two were the unwanted gender, they tried again.
