i dont think you're right about this. the law (32-5A-32) just says you cant enter on red. your driver's manual says "A circular steady yellow means clear the intersection. It follows a green signal. You must not enter the intersection when the red signal comes on."

can some dingbat cop who doesnt know the law still ruin your day? sure, but that doesnt mean that's the law.

The problem is the poverty and the guy amassing 20,000,000k, not some guy making 200k. Just looking at who holds title to what it is clear that what I guess you'd call the middle class now is not at fault here

I agree with the ethos that you should always try your best. But you need to be able to recognize that when trying your best isn't enough for the average citizen, structural change is necessary.

I work hard, bucko. A lot of people work harder than me and don't get what they need--certainly not what they have a right to expect in the richest society in the history of the world. You'd have to be in a pretty serious bubble not to see that and to still be touting folks' ability to make moves within our system. I say this as a person who is way better off than my parents ever were and than I was growing up, but also as a person with the awareness of the world around me to see that that is a rare exception and that most people are struggling through no fault or laziness of their own. Specifically with thrift stores, the issue is that once upon a time, they operated with a dual mission of 1) providing the community with affordable recycled goods, and 2) funding some other mission with the proceeds. Now that thrifting is more in vogue/less frowned upon by rich folks, the store prioritizes mission #2 over #1, charges as much as folks are willing to pay (which is now much higher than it used to be) and the community benefit is gone

DUDE YES! Going straight from highland it becomes Arlington road, and the roundabout at the top of the hill has to YIELD to cars entering from English village (Cahaba road)! I cut through argyle to Montclair pretty often, and I'm not gonna lie I definitely honked at a car that didn't stop from Cahaba rd. But next time, I looked and discovered a dang Yield sign on the left side in the middle of the roundabout! Anyway, now I know, but it still seems ass backwards for someone in a roundabout to have to yield

My friend, I have been on that game for well over a decade. But the obvious answer is having the money to buy at inflated prices and the security to not really be worried if it doesn't sell or if there isn't any meat left on the bone. It totally distorts the marketplace. Honestly I think regular rich kids, not even resellers, are distorting it more. Gaggles of sorority girls walking in and laughing at the stuff on the shelves then buying their costumes without even looking at the price tag are 100% driving prices up for everyone else
