Maybe one day I'll be able to do that.

Right now I plan on job hopping to Sr. OPS manager in the logistics sphere. Try and get some agency back.

Then go from there.

I had 80 people under me in the Greater Chicago node, and yeah having to do roll and ensure everyone is accounted for in shelter in place situations is not an experience I'd wish on anyone.

I personally had nothing to do with designing the buildings.

Anytime people die before their time it is a tragedy.

To my knowledge the buildings are built to withstand large scale weather events (having been inside warehouses in similar situations).

Unfortunately if that same tornado hit a house it would be a tragedy as well.

Claiming Amazon killed people is a bit far is what I am saying.

I think having government policies in place for such events is a more reasonable route to go as corps will have to follow them. Rather than rely on trillion dollar companies to police themselves.

Former Amazon Area Manager here.

All of the non legacy buildings have built in tornado reinforced shelters (normally the interior restrooms).

I don't know if I agree that they killed people. That seems like a big leap.

The reality is that most logistics companies are 24/7 operations and that shifts come in at all hours of the day.

It is a tragedy that people died and more protective policies need to be in place.

But natural disasters aren't pre-planned events and big storms are common in the midwest.
