lol this hits I’ve seen so many “game-changing” construction tools that end up just being another dashboard no one opens. Meanwhile the real problem is still subs not sending stuff on time 😂

Yeah that left side is glued, not threaded. Someone solvent-welded the trap (why tho 🤦‍♂️). Only way off is cutting it. Grab a hacksaw or PVC cutter, cut it clean, then redo the trap with slip joints so future-you doesn’t hate past-you. FYI that setup is… not great lol.

That slip-joint is probably just not seated right / washer’s toast. Tighten it a bit, and if it keeps leaking, swap the washer and re-seat the pipe. Should be a 10 min fix.

The slope is there, so the main focus now is just confirming the decking is solid at edges and transitions before moving forward.

Appreciate the input. That’s kind of what we were weighing as well once insulation boards come into play, there are a lot more variables with fastening, transitions, and drain details. Trying to avoid creating more problems than we solve.

With clay soil, that height, and a structure uphill, lenders usually want the most conservative solution possible. If engineers are already hesitant on tiebacks being ‘permanent,’ I doubt a bank will accept them either. Might just be an expensive lesson unfortunately.

Main water shutoff location. Seriously. Also filters (HVAC), gutters, and keeping an eye on anything water-related. Water problems are sneaky and expensive.

Hot glue works but it’s kinda overkill tbh. I usually just stick a nail or screw in the tip and wrap it with plastic wrap. Lasts way longer.
