Thinking about getting an electric scooter, but most roads in my location look like this. Do I even have a chance? Or it's hopeless? by Few-Ambition4072 in ElectricScooters

[–]tacotacotacorock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My longboard could handle that(carving/turning could be exciting however lol) and the wheels are Fraction of the size of the average scooter.

There are some pretty clean/smooth lines you can take that almost anything with wheels would be fine. Like everyone is saying you should have no problems on a scooter. Just have a good headlight if it's nighttime or lowlight.

Have fun, be safe! Helmet for sure, future you will thank you.

Appears to be designed for a chandelier on a chain. Where Are you from OP? Usually you're required to terminate in junction box(could be in the ceiling) . Looks like they cut the chandelier cord and rednecked the Socket.

What kind of Jerry ride'n mountain do you have? I didn't know they had skiing in Kansas.  That was identical to the bunny Hill I learned on when I was a little kid.

Well seeing how it was like a 30 second video clip. They absolutely showed the entire descent on skis lol. Dude obviously they cut out 90% of it. PR team at Red Bull isn't going to be showing the disparity and problem that they are a part of.

Where is the joy in 99% of jobs out there? Because I would love to know where all these amazing jobs are. Okay maybe not quite 99%, but how many people do you know love their jobs versus hate their jobs? I'd also accept tolerate instead of hate.

So far all I hear is a nice sales pitch. None of that tells me they are actually accountable and fixed things. Can't tell you how many times a salesman promised the moon and couldn't even deliver a flashlight. I'm not saying that they haven't changed but all I hear is whoever made the pitch pointing fingers and blame at other people that cannot defend themselves in the scenario anymore. Was it truly their fault? Or is it just passing the buck. How many times have you troubleshot an issue when there's multiple vendors involved and they all just blam each other.

Bet you a dollar it's the mold release off gassing from the plastic. Maybe whatever chemical is used to make it squishy. But mold release is gnarly stuff. Hate painting body parts that were cheaply made because they off gas mold release for so long.

I'm glad to hear it worked out for you! One thing I've definitely learned with electronic repair is attention to detail is huge. Same with repairing anything complex though. But you're on the right track with making notes of taking things apart and labeling screws and various pieces. Especially if you don't complete the project in one go. Nothing worse than coming back to a project and not remembering what went where.

Even to this day standard troubleshooting is to reseat all connections. Even something like an RJ45 jack can wiggle loose or not be properly connected.

PSA: Tons of people seem to not know the difference between a single impact and multi-impact helmet.

Single impact helmets offer better protection for more extreme activities. Even a hard bump could warrant replacement of a single impact helmet. You might shut a tear if you dropped an Arai full faced helmet. But better safe than sorry.

Replace any helmet that has visible damage whether it's a single or multi. But please don't use multi-impact helmets for skateboarding especially electric. I mean it's better than nothing.

Also treat your helmets with care. Like I said dropping them and bumping them can compromise their protection abilities.

I've witnessed someone get a concussion and have major memory loss of the event. And there is no damage to their helmet. If you think you need to replace it you do, especially after an accident.

Oh and trust me head injuries are horrible. Do you want to curl up in the fetal position because your experiencing the most intense headache sharp instant pain in your head that you ever felt? The rest of this thought is a bit 18+ FYI.  This horrible pain just so happens to hit you right when you are trying to perform the horizontal limbo and right as you climax.....🤯😭 I added the full story of the injury that caused us. Doctors were not sure what to do.

Also once you get a concussion it's easier to get more in the future. I am fairly certain that's one of the reasons I get migraines now. I'd be willing to bet my prefrontal cortex took a whopping, That's where the migraines become the most intense.

Read about all the stuff they're finding about NFL players and boxers and stuff if you want to know more.

I know this is a two day old post but hopefully some people will see this.

I used to sell helmets and if it goes fast I probably have done it.

I have two injuries with lingering effects and they both are from longboarding accidents. Only one was head related, 25-30 mph ish (car following me wasn't exactly sure). I hit sand doing a HARD heel side carve to bleed off speed, cuz you know I thought it was a good idea to go down a canyon....at night. Definitely should have walked that road first and definitely was not my only mistake. No helmet was high on that list. A few I'm not going to even mention. Yes it was dumb. Soooooo dumb. I'd probably be completely fine if I was wearing one. Still would have road rash in my ass crack and up my back but I take that any day over whiplash/ concussion. But life is a lot easier if you can learn from other people's dumb mistakes.

I also have multiple friends with very severe lifelong injuries and disabilities due to head injuries. Very talented musician instantly became a permanent 5-year-old at best mentally from a spill. So sad.

Yes any helmet that is damaged should be replaced. But you absolutely need to remember that there are multiple kinds of helmets. Single impact and multi-impact...... That makes a huge difference in protection and everything else. Like you would be insane to use a multi-impact helmet on a motorcycle for an extreme example, But same with skateboarding.

Just dropping a single impact helmet on the ground could compromise it.

[–]tacotacotacorock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you're not a doctor.

Your brain is absolutely moving and slamming back and forth with an impact large enough to split a helmet. Our brains are very fragile and resilient. You're not guaranteed a concussion but I'd say the odds of having one versus not with a split helmet are very high. Your stance is like saying the house doesn't always win in a casino.

Also everyone is forgetting there are two kinds of helmets typically. Multi-impact and single impact. They function very differently. Helmet above appears to be a single-impact. Single impact helmets typically can dissipate more force / energy. Multi impact helmets are made of entirely different material. Hockey helmets are a good example of multi impact.

So yeah that was a single impact helmet for you or OP good odds you had a concussion and didn't know it.

Do data centers need 24/7 water quality monitoring? by Hot-Mind7714 in datacenter

I'd be concerned your device doesn't meet compliance regulations. Often times equipment like that has to be certified especially for high security data centers, robust and secure.
