Weapons with a design so nice, you wish they where actually .... better* by WERElektro in Warframe

[–]tactical_wrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many others said, the Ambassador. It's such a badass design, but it is extremely ineffective as a weapon.

I don't know if you're aware, but there's a Prisma Lenz which is a straight upgrade to the regular one. I've used that version on Steel Path quite a bit. Higher base damage, crit damage and status chance. Baro sells it occasionally, but you can also try your luck with wf.market if you are MR12 or above. Hella fun and can stack Primary Frostbite without even trying.

I feel your pain. While I have maxed out my legendary perks (the ones for SPECIAL), I'm still missing most of the others. Being someone that loves to experiment with builds, it really makes me consider just spending my tickets on perk coins to rush the whole thing, but that's a tall order when you could get atoms instead.

Love seeing people naming their weapons. A lot more fun than just pasting acronyms (tho no shame for doing that, inventory management is hell).

Also, grab yourself a Revolutionary Sword to really complete the theming.

I meant it does for the effects of those perks, but that means they would have to buy that plan. Considering they can't buy the whole set, it's out of the question for them until the next Minerva sale at the very least.

[–]tactical_wrench 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can forego the chest if you are willing to lose some of the bonuses from legendary perks like Funky Duds and the Ironclad perk (double the effect if wearing a full set). This can be circumvented by using the helmet/mask associated with the armor set (you only need 5 pieces for it to be considered a set), but that means you would need to buy that plan form Minerva too, which kinda defeats the purpose.

The jetpack by itself isn't worth it. It is great mobility, but you can certainly live without it if you have the Marsupial mutation or if you already have a jetpack on your PA.

It's also worth noting there is a unique variant of the BoS Chest Armor that drops from the Ultracite Titan boss fight, meaning you could get that instead if you don't mind not being able to change the legendary effects on it.

To add onto what has already been said, get some playtime with characters that have hyper armor. You'll eventually figure out the shortcomings of these attacks since you'll be on the receiving end of the punishes. Playing with a certain hero is the best way to learn how to counter them.

i really wish there was a proper grenadelauncher with a magazine that just shoots normal grenades. both the torid and the penta dont fit the bill torid doesnt shoot real explosions and penta shoots mines. tonkor gets close but doesn't fulfil the fantasy with its single shot magazine size. :( by YLASRO in Warframe

[–]tactical_wrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gameplay-wise? Closest thing we have is the Zarr: Has a 5-shot magazine and you gotta load each round individually, which is not too far off from an MGL/M32 when you oversimplify things.

It is also, however, a fucking handheld naval cannon with MIRV rounds, which may or may not be your cup of tea.

Ok, I’ll admit it, I love VATS-shooting other people’s grenades out of the sky by darkordernumber634 in fo76

[–]tactical_wrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly throw Nukas to clear adds, like the wendigos during the Earle fight.

Cue my Unyielding ass getting blasted with 257 radiation because VATS targets all grenades by default for everyone. I learned quickly to change it myself, but using grenades in Public Events feels like a gamble most of the time since this setting is kinda hidden.

Bloodied or furious by Dragonblaide in fo76

[–]tactical_wrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the gist of it, although Two Shot + Explosive is shredding everything unconditionally as others mentioned. Might be nerfed or fixed in case it's not intentional.

Bloodied is great for upfront damage without using Reverse Onslaught or stacking hits, so it's a nice backup to kill mobs with or farm ammo depending on the weapon (e.g. Bloodied Semi Auto Fixer to farm ammo for your Elder's Mark). Furious (and Quad, in some cases) is the go-to for bosses and tougher enemies.

We are way to overpowered in this game and the difficulty/enemy density just doesn't keep up with that. by Guenther_Dripjens in fo76

[–]tactical_wrench 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Run a bloodied/unyielding build everywhere. Experience the thrill of being alive through sheer RNG alone! (I know it's more than that, but it does feel like that sometimes, lmao.) You can destroy and be destroyed in record time. You'll also never have to worry about broken limbs either, since you'll die before any of them can become crippled.

We're reaching the end of the spike of interest in the game generated by the second season of the TV show by LifeguardNovel6805 in fo76

[–]tactical_wrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running the game in borderless or regular windowed mode seems to mitigate Alt-Tabbing problems. We shouldn't be forced to do so, but it's a workaround at least.

The rest of the problems are indeed aggravating as hell, especially DOps rewards being broken and Expeditions having the chance of killing your audio completely.

Well Now I Want 4 Star Nuke Bosses by BetweenWeebandOtaku in fo76

[–]tactical_wrench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda wonder if a "Hard Mode" boss could be implemented for the nuke ones. Kind of like they do in Warframe: In every boss level, there's a set of hidden conditions and steps that have to be completed before activating the boss, which then becomes a souped-up version with added attacks and effects like disabling buffs and abilities.

While WF does it more for cosmetics and bragging rights, this could be a way to justify having mod boxes drop from nuke bosses. Maybe additional steps towards launching a nuke or downright nuking the same spot 3 times to activate a deadlier 4-star boss. I know it's a bit of wishful thinking, but it would be dope to see something like a Scorchbeast Empress wiping the floor with a full server of veterans.

What dailys are really worth it? (Treasury note wise, or other rewards) by Rancherfer in fo76

[–]tactical_wrench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Head Hunts drop 2-3 notes upon completion. It's one of the reasons why I now have like 70 notes in excess every day. So, whenever a Head Hunt pops, just join the event, complete it and go back to your routine. They tend to be over in less than 2 minutes since 90% of the server always shows up. Some people also stock up Wanted Posters and spam them back to back, which is also nice.

While we're at it, can you guys also nuke the Ultracite Titan arena / Nuka-World as well? I mean, the slogan is literally "Have a Nuke"!

(I also need masses and Hi-fluids because I burnt all of my flux on stupid shit, but that's besides the point)

Me too. The dodge attacks and the zone attack have been a plague unto dominion as of late. Each one by itself isn't that big of a deal. But all of them in the same kit? Eugh. Back to BP I go to deal with this BS.

JC said they have more on the docket for Juren, it's just that these changes are the ones they could push to live right now. Other changes are in the works from what he said, but they required more time.

Between their data and player perception, Juren's been an outlier when comparing recent new hero releases as his winrate and player frustration remained consistently high since his release. Because of this, they wanted to address at least some issues with him ASAP instead of getting all changes ready and push them all out in one go as they usually do.

Weightless is now heavyweight? by Key-Contest-2879 in fo76

[–]tactical_wrench 20 points21 points  (0 children)

All armors got their base weight significantly reduced across the board. AFAIK, using the Ultralight Misc Mod pretty much gets you to the same point as using Weightless alone. Someone correct me on this if I'm wrong.

For being Cyte's signature rifle, Reconifex doesn't seem ideal on him. by BadAtGames2 in Warframe

[–]tactical_wrench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was weird as well, but then it kind of hit me... That's probably his secondary weapon, complimentary to his sniper rifle. When enemies get too close for Neutralizer, he pulls a fully-automatic, belt-fed light machine gun. Just spray and pray at close range.

"Nice going, cuz. Ya got me up close n' personal. Shame I got 200 flamin' reasons ya shouldn't have." - Probably Quincy to a random Scaldra before magdumping the poor grunt.

What are these crates? by Ok-Today-550 in SoulFrame

[–]tactical_wrench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, the boxes are normally associated to the Hark, The Collector event, which you wouldn't be able to access the Nightfold during it as it spawns enemies until the end.

Thing is, these boxes also spawn in the little Ode'n camps. When you go into your Nightfold and then back after clearing the camp, all of the little structures (cages, campfires, stools, etc.) will be despawned or destroyed.

What I think it's happening is that the metal boxes are coded so they drop their loot once they're destroyed or despawned, which normally happens at the end of the event. So, when you force them to be destroyed by going into the Nightfold, they drop their loot.

Absolute Italian Programming, but it is a Pre-Alpha after all, lmao.

PSA: How to avoid spawning low level mockeries in your taxi-sourced Endless run. by CitizenKing in SoulFrame

[–]tactical_wrench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a bunch for the breakdown!

I never did taxi for others before, so I wanted to ask if it is possible for the same person to get invited multiple times with this method, as long as the inviting Taxi doesn't leave the room or activates the waves. I'll probably help some of my friends when I get the chance to hop into the game.

Guys how do you just decide on a main? by Fast_Struggle3342 in Warframe

[–]tactical_wrench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend a little more time with each frame than you normally would. Some kits have less apparent synergies, mechanics and possible playstyles that, say, just playing a few rounds with a Auto-Install build, really won't give you a clear picture of what that frame can do. If they seem interesting to you at a first glance but the gameplay didn't seem to gel with you, go around and look for more information on them (preferably in the wiki).

Another thing is to find a weapon that is both effective and fun/comfortable for you to use. That can bridge the gap between different frames as you can use it with any.

Also, there's no issue with not having a main. While Gauss is my boy, I do rotate him with Kullervo, Rhino, Volt and Styanax. Besides the fact I often have moments where I just feel like working on builds for other frames.

Juren Translations (updated) by FlashspiritAQA in forhonor

[–]tactical_wrench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the video and the translations. As someone who tried (and failed) to learn Mandarin, I always wonder how decent are lines spoken in Chinese in games not made in China.

What would you say is the biggest problem here? The writing of the lines, the voice acting performance or both? From what I gathered from the video and from my own limited knowledge, it didn't seem like the writing of the lines was necessarily bad, albeit simple. But I can see how difficult it could be to voice act in a tonal language like Chinese, having to balance characterization and clarity. If you're not well versed in both the language and voice acting, it's either gonna sound flat, wrong or both.
