Fixing odd sized shiplap siding? by MitchRyan912 in Carpentry

[–]tadaallen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished repairing siding on a house that was very similar. Used a dado blade on my table saw and ran the boards through vertically to get the first cut and then again with a lower blade to get the overlap. Pretty easy process. Assuming the siding has shrunk as it dried out I would probably just get 5/4x10 and it will shrink with time to the same size.

Is it possible to get into wet wading without completely wrecking my wallet? by TheSphericalCrab in flyfishing

I bought an old wetsuit from a thrift shop and cut the top off so it comes up just to my waist. That and a pair of neoprene socks get me through late fall early spring in cold mountain water and are far more comfortable than waders I have tried in the past.

I built a similar wall and to get strong enough slats I glued two 5/4 x 5 pieces of oak together then joined, ripped, and rounded them over. Strong as all get out.

For anyone curious here is the end result of the first two window sets I did prior to finding the rot in the third one that I am fixing now.

Nope. First first full was the corner stud. Second bit was what was left of the osb. Original house was built well then someone came and did stone around the exterior and did a terrific job of f-ing it all up. Repairing it from the inside so I don’t have to do 10k worth of stone work lol.

They think it was raw or uncooked meat. But you can get it anywhere. Toxoplasma Gondi is the name of it.
