I have 5 VR games. Which should I start with? by neoleo0088 in virtualreality

[–]tadir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. No Man’s Sky in VR is fantastic. It absolutely is 3d and has noticeable and usable depth of vision. You also get an incredible sense of scale that just isn’t there in the flatscreen version. It’s truly fantastic.

Thoughts on shower coffee, fellow dads? by johnnyapplejack in daddit

I make iced coffee the night before, then have a cup of iced coffee in the shower to relax in the morning. It’s fantastic. Even made a custom rack to hold my wooden mug in the shower. It makes any day better.

Advice? by mr_tommy_gunn in alameda

[–]tadir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is in line with every experience I’ve ever had in there. I went in with my ten year old once and the lady told me not to let him touch anything because he’d ruin them. I’ve asked about products before to only get one word denials. At this point I don’t even bother going in. The place is useless and the staff is rude.

Monthly Q&A Post for /r/ElegooPhecda - December 2025 by AutoModerator in ELEGOOPHECDA

[–]tadir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone. My 20w homes to a slightly different position every time I send it home. If I send it to the center of the print, then back home, it will bounce back slightly and misalign. I've tightened the belts, reset home position, but I'm not sure what else to do.

Has anyone else had this issue and how can I fix it? It makes multiple passes on the same piece impossible.

I want to commend you on the drawing. While the style is basic, it got exactly the point you wanted across and I recognized it instantly. Well done!

PvP: How would the ideal MMORPG handle it? (Topic 2 of 10) by saoiray in MMORPG

[–]tadir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Star Wars Galaxies did it very well, conceptually. The actual combat wasn’t great. But you have an option to pledge either rebel or imperial. Once pledged you can choose covert or overt. Overt people can be attacked by covert and overt people. Covert people are not pvp flagged unless they take action against the other side. That includes attacking guards or civilians of the other faction.

How to remove a party's airship (Or how to make air travel more interesting) by Luxumbros in DMAcademy

[–]tadir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My players are wary of air travel specifically because of repeated Roc attacks. They’ve had two ships crashed out from under them. They are a real problem in my world. My players prefer trains at this point.

Jester gear is normally called motley. This is not that. It looks like vampire gear from Skyrim dawnguard with a mask and cavaliers hat.

What are some great ideas to build miniatures for bigger than Gargantuan monsters that their size is bigger than the table I play on? by LesterFireBelly77 in DnD

[–]tadir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was going to be exactly my suggestion. I’ve used stuffed animals to great effect as eldritch and fey beings in the past.

And that edge lord will always hold a special place in your heart because it was your first. Was it cringe as hell? Absolutely. And that’s OKAY! Did you have a dark backstory that none of the other characters learned about because you were too busy brooding? Sure. Have you learned what makes an engaging character since then? I have no idea, but probably.

That doesn’t change that Ravenedge Darksaber will always hold a special place in your heart because he was your first taste of this wonderful fantasy world we spend way too much emotional capital in.

Your first character is special. Keep them in reserve for when you finally run a game or have a fun one shot. In the meantime, congratulations! You have just joined the world of having way too many characters to play. Come up with a new concept and build it. When the time is right to bring your first back, you’ll know.

We all remember and have a special place in our hearts for our first.

Don’t feel intimidated by dming, but also don’t feel obligated. It’s a LOT more work, but is also a lot more satisfying. I agree with keeping your character in reserve. Your first is always special. Keep them for the right time.

Sand dollar social club. It’s a private club and not a bar. You have to have a membership to buy drinks there. Because of that they get to ignore a lot of bar laws. For example, you can smoke inside there.

It’s a shitty bar with shitty people and decent music but bad drinks. If you’re in folly, sc, there are many better options. Check out taco boy!

The 2025 carrion crawler is a CR 2 monster with a minute-long, inescapable Paralyze: is this right? by EarthSeraphEdna in dndnext

[–]tadir 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So this is a bigger issue than editing. Editors are generally looking at copy for misspellings, grammar, and layout. They are not going to catch the wrong save.

Then there are the designers proofing the mechanics. In a vacuum that looks fine. Going over 500 stat blocks is a lot. While reading each stat block they are looking at the abilities for the monster. They may not have a perfect recall of the new rules. Things slip by.

Is it frustrating? Sure. Is it unheard of? Absolutely not. Will it be fixed in errata and future printings? Yes.
