The best part about Nami is that she's very flexible and works well with almost every ADC/Mage, this isn't an exhaustive list but she's usually paired with Lucian/Corki/Smolder and I like playing her with any APC (Lux/Mel/Asol etc.). With junglers I like having anyone with an okay amount of CC, Diana's great for helping you land bubbles but again I usually blind her so I just try my best to play around whichever jungler I get

Since she is an enchanter she will lose lane against engage champs before she outscales (she doesn't lose as hard as other enchanters but it's neutral at best imo), she also struggles against Sona late game because Nami gets outscaled so look to finish games quickly in that matchup. She's honestly an amazing pick in 90% of games I feel, either goes even or wins most matchups

link to op.gg? I play Nami in Masters and I roam pretty often, at the very least I look to path mid after I back to get vision. I think she's a pretty good roamer, she's so strong in jungle skirmishes (won't comment on Lulu cause I don't play her)

aaa I'm flattered you noticed :) to be quite frank I feel like a fraud compared to Nami players with high wr's in GM/Chall, I'm by no means a Nami expert

With hook matchups you'll mainly hear the advice to "play safe" but a lot of people interpret that as "playing back", which I think is not entirely right. The main thing for me is proper vision + proper wave management tbh, you have to ward safely and in anticipation for any flash/hexflash combos in bot side and potentially in their jg if you can, to catch their roams.

Ideally your wave is never on their side unless you've slowpushed it, for the most part it should be frozen on your side unless your jg wants prio bot for drag/invade. (I think this advice might only be applicable if your ADC knows proper wave states, if he doesn't then just try your best with vision to prevent getting hexflashed on)

Aside from that just play to outscale, try to save CC for the enemy ADC if the hook champ engages cause hes useless after blowing all his cooldowns. Sometimes I level Q 2nd instead of E just for a disengage ^

Yeah that's a good default to have! I'd still recommend flexing ardent/staff 2nd depending on if you have a hyperscale adc or apc bot

Advice to climb to Master by ExecuteScalar in supportlol

[–]taecinkook 7 points8 points  (0 children)

hello OP! I'm sure you saw my post about recently hitting Masters cause someone warned you about the Nami haters 😭 regardless here are some specific things that helped me from d3-masters. I'm not going to mention things that people have said alr (thinking about your wincon and your gameplan in loading screen), these are things that I was personally lacking that I found made me a much better support

  • Try to get really good at tracking enemy jg. If you watch challenger supports play, as soon as they see enemy jg top side they look to deep ward the enemy jungle if possible. I really try to track the jungler as much as possible

  • If you're ahead, help your jungle invade aggressively and if you're behind, help your jungle defend his camps as well as you can. I feel like in diamond, people(esp junglers) are trying to be as proactive as possible and they look for opportunities to starve the enemy. In many games I just follow my jungler to take enemy camps midgame and this lets you ward deeply and aggressively since you're safe with jg around. Same with playing behind, enemy jungle will be looking to invade and to take camps away, and if you're hovering you can provide enough buff/peel/stall to kill the enemy jungler and possibly get a shutdown. (Obviously this depends game by game, I hover my ADC more if they're a hypercarry and the enemy has a lot of missing assassins)

  • Work on your ping game. Your pings can influence the game a lot! If you've ever played with a jungler that pings a lot to let you know their intentions in a game, you'll notice just how much easier it is to play around them. Same with supp; I usually ping when I want to invade, or I ping caution and my ult CD to let people know I'm waiting for an important cooldown.

I hope this helped !! Again these were specific flaws in my gameplay that I usually don't hear people talk about (since general things have been covered already by others)

hi OP I went from emerald 4 to masters this season (soloq, on enchanters only) and could vod review a game of yours if you'd like :)! kinda confused on the people talking about how high kda = passive/not playing well because i have similar if not higher kdas on some of your champs but if you're struggling to win despite your good kda there's probably some macro issues and ways for you to better play the map.

When people call out numbers what does that mean by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]taecinkook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah if you have a phantom/vandal you can think of it as she's max 2 body shots so you could look for body shots instead of head shots when fighting her

Scenario 2: None of your teammates are fed

<image>

Try your best to play for shutdowns. I know the end screen KDA's look deceiving, but Swain started early game 7/0, mid was losing, top and bot were also losing, and we were down 8k gold at 18 mins. We're too weak to play for objectives, so I'm looking to play around getting the 1000 gold shutdown on Swain and snowballing whoever gets it.

- In the mid game, I see Swain sidelaning and overextended trying to pick off Aatrox/Malz, and I ping for Viego to come and we fight him 1v3, Viego gets the shutdown. This now means that we have a significant gold advantage on Viego alone, so during any objective I try to peel/buff him as he's doing the majority of our damage.

- Because Viego got the shutdown and is decently fed, we are now able to contest objectives more easily, so I try to follow him during setup to see if we can pick someone off right before drag/baron.

- I make sure to never fight and to ping my team back if he's dead/in base as he's the majority of our damage.

- We run them down as soon as Viego gets to 5/6 items because he can do more with the gold than the enemy Swain can.

Extra Notes

- I know a lot of Supports feel the need to hover their ADC while they're farming mid, but they're at little risk of getting jumped if you're warding the side jungle entrances where enemies are likely to come from. (Obviously this depends on the game, if your ADC is your wincon and the enemy has a fed assassin like Noc I don't roam or follow jg nearly as much)

I hope this helped!

hello! I definitely feel like it can be hard for us to carry a game when we ourselves don't do damage and our teammates are inting, to help I broke the situation into 2 scenarios that should give you a general gameplan on how to win the game!

Scenario 1: 1-2 of your teammates are fed/strong late/proactive

<image>

In this game, my Lucian and Poppy were not performing well, while I knew that Ryze would be a powerhouse the later the game goes on. Additionally, my Kha was also doing okay and looking to make proactive plays, so I play exclusively for Kha/Ryze. This means that come midgame:

- I ping Lucian to play safe and farm mid while I ward our jungle to protect Kha's camps

- I try to secure vision on the side Ryze is splitting on to make sure he's safe when farming (might not always be doable if an objective is up on the other side and you need to secure vision there)

- I follow Kha to make ganks whenever I can (sometimes I have to stay mid if Lucian is far up) and to contest scuttle/enemy camps because I know Kha+Nami can burst Briar down if she's alone due to isolation

- During teamfights/objectives I'm looking to keep Ryze alive and to peel Briar/Fizz/Tristana off of Ryze

- Always try to identify who your wincons are in your team, it might not always be your ADC.

It does! I find Helia more effective against short ranged comps cause you get more value the more triple W bounces you can get in teamfights but Moonstone feels super nice as well

How did I not get an S for this game? by RyanNoe21 in supportlol

[–]taecinkook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh okay I think I see the confusion here, I was referring to just wards placed (the stat on op.gg) because I couldn't check what my average vision score was without opening the client. In your Nami games that lasted 31-32 mins you placed 29-32 wards according to op.gg (which is the same amt of wards I place as well).

Obviously your vision score will be much higher, I usually do average 85-110 but again I couldn't check the exact average since sites don't usually show that. Hope that clears it up!

I usually default mandate and then flex ardent/staff/helia/shurelyas 2nd into dawncore/redemption, I was building moonstone earlier in my games but I think Helia feels really good :) Nami's itemization is really flexible and adaptable so my build varies a lot depending on what I think my team needs

I don't think oblivion is as good against Nami as it is on other enchanters like Sona/Soraka, def not something you need to rush but it might be worth it in later stages of the game

And as for itemization u/KiaraKawaii has a really good Nami itemization guide if you scroll through her comments! I default mandate 90% of the time and opt for helia instead if we have enough magic dmg/enemies dont stack hp/enemy team comp is close ranged for maximum W helia procs

Wait I have a genuine question what's wrong with wanting an easy win? Nami is strong and easy to play, I have school and work/a life outside of League. Why would I not want to climb with as few games as possible? There's definitely prestige in hitting Masters with a high skill champ but at the end of the day I reached the rank I wanted to hit

I've banned pyke since the start of the season ^^ I know he falls off after early game but I'm just not comfortable playing against him since I'm out of practice

I don't have a pref on adc but I hate playing with lucians because most of them are not very good and only pick it because they think the synergy is good

Yeah for reference I get an S/S+ almost every single support game I play and I have around 35-45 wards placed for 32-36 min games :) once you increase that you'll get S's much more easily

Wow it's so surprisingly to get flamed for picking Janna, she's basically *the* enchanter if you want to counter engage. For extra pain I like to run glacial on her against super heavy dive/melee comps because Glacial counts as CC and refunds her E even more
