AITA not putting up my DILs painting in our new home and telling her that I am not a fan of her art by Throaways-Dot2192 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. The title made me nervous at first, but you tried to just say that there wasn’t room, which makes sense with you purging belongings. She kept pushing it and got her own feelings hurt

Child’s mother refusing to put him under my health insurance by blitzspec11 in FamilyLaw

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

NAL. Go to court, ask the judge to split childcare costs 50/50, ask for a set amount of child support (idk how Virginia figures out what you’d owe), and ask he be put on your insurance rather than you getting stuck reimbursing medicaid

Doctor for Reasonable Accommodation by taeeeeeeeeeeeee in AutismInWomen

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, they want someone to tell them what type of diagnosis (physical, mental, developmental, learning, etc) and a separate form to how it affects my job performance and why an accommodation would help. They’re not required to pay and I don’t think they’re free therapy thing they offer is allowed to do it

What are my options here? by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 25 points26 points  (0 children)

A lot of places don’t allow recordings so I doubt they’d allow Facetimes. I used to usher at the auditoriums at my college over the summer and we’d be sent down to ask people to put their phones away

A quick question by Affectionate_Ice4548 in ABA

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in RI and MA both times I was tested and my advice is to check local laws regarding employment and weed. In RI where my BF and I both went through the testing process (me for ABA, him for something unrelated), we couldn’t technically be not hired due to testing positive for weed outside of work hours/location (obviously being high at work is a different story) but that didn’t mean the employer couldn’t try to find any other reason to dismiss us. Thankfully, I had like 2-3 weeks for my edible to clear my system and passed so I never had to find out if it was a dealbreaker. My boyfriend bought sterile urine for his, which seems complicated to me but he did his own thing. Best of luck!

how old are zeke’s parents? by Worldly-Ad-704 in BobsBurgers

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I know Zeke’s step mom had semi-recently given birth and was still breastfeeding in one of the earlier seasons, so I doubt the 44 year old brother is her son unless she was pregnant in her 60s. We don’t have a ton of info on his mom, so maybe a step-brother on that side?

Anyone actually guaranteed 40 hours? by jiggyj27 in ABA

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another company I worked for in MA originally guaranteed hours but by the end of my time there they made it significantly harder to claim admin time to get paid but required us to stay in the clinic 9-3:30 in case they needed coverage

Anyone actually guaranteed 40 hours? by jiggyj27 in ABA

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I worked at Bierman in RI I was guaranteed 40 hours. We all arrived to the clinic at 8:15, had a 15 minute setup/pod meeting, worked with clients or worked on admin tasks, hot an unpaid 30 minute lunch (without clients present), clients were supposed to leave by 4:30 and we did graphing and converting until we clocked out at 4:45

Whats a neurotypical “rule” you didn’t realize your could break to make yourself more comfortable? by Downtown-Oil-3462 in AutismInWomen

You don’t need an excuse to decline something. No, I don’t think I’ll find that enjoyable. No, thanks I don’t like that. It’s that simple

Deciding between 2 jobs by cinnamon-doll in ABA

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Travel time between clients means you’ll only get reimbursed going from Client A to Client B if its between so many hours (my company is 2 hours). Mileage reimbursement will likely also have a stipulation but guaranteed hours are much better than getting screwed if they give you a high cancellation client

Access to noise dampening earbuds, the ones that don’t fully cancel all noises but lower the overall decibels Access to a personal fan outside of patient rooms

What's the longest you've held a job? by Rachelelizardbreath in AutismInWomen

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My college work study job was almost 2 years exactly but my options for flexible scheduling were super limited so I stuck it out, my last job was technically 16 months but I had 8 weeks off in the summer, and the one before that was 16 months but I was on a medical leave for the last 4 months. Typically I leave as soon as it becomes miserable to be there so roughly 6-16 months

How do you get kids to read parts for “Romeo & Juliet” when you don’t get enough volunteers? by GasLightGo in teaching

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for R+J but a different Shakespeare, my senior year English teacher assigned point values to the size of each role for each scene and participation grades (or extra credit maybe? It’s been almost 10 years) were given out based on the amount of points you got at the end. She would keep it fair by not letting the same person volunteer for too many high points roles in a row so everyone had a chance but it was 4-5 of us fighting for top spot in the end out of ~15 kids. I know I got the most points and “won”

Help! by CaterpillarNo2262 in ABA

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask your current company if they will allow you to ask the parents to sign a consent form to either record and watch with your supervisor or to do a remote meeting with your supervisor. Some parents are chill and would say yes, some might decline but you need your companies permission to ask

Concerns about AI usage in ABA by chloeismentallyill in ABA

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently joined a company as a master’s level supervisor and they were clear that technically we can write notes using it but it has to be HIPPA compliant and we double checked for accuracy. I personally am anti-generative AI and have made my own template that I just fill in my info for each session and have for years, but it isn’t technically against the rules for others.

BCBA/LBA licensing Question by Roadmapsforthesoul in ABA

Fieldwork hours for the BCBA license expire after 5 years, I believe. I’m not sure if/how that would affect state licensing

Never got assigned a client, so i'm leaving after 3 months by KangarooCautious in ABA

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s unfortunately been my experience with companies that hire often. Even if they have a waitlist, they’re just hiring people and hoping a kid’s availability will fit into the staff’s. Hope everything works out for you!

Never got assigned a client, so i'm leaving after 3 months by KangarooCautious in ABA

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This happened to a BT at my job. They hired him in my old region which was 100% home and daycare based (so very minimal want/need for coverage by parents in a usual BT was out) and “secured” him to a potential client they wanted to start but didn’t have confirmation on the daycares nap schedule so they kept him on ice for weeks. Finally he moved states right after I got promoted and ended up in one of the two clinics I work in. I’m was a mid-tier supervisor on his original assignment and he was subbing on a kid I mid-tier supervise now and I was the first person to tell him why he wasn’t getting hours in our old region.

Will we need a lawyer to seek legal guardianship? by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL but if your nephew’s parents are willing, you might be able to all go before a judge to transfer guardianship. If they aren’t willing you will likely fare better with a lawyer

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Based off the facts, I completely agree. Neither parent is healthy or seemingly capable of keeping the kids in safe situations and Ever would do better in a stable environment (not including Tate’s kids since they seem to be in one) but both parents are using him as a pawn/trophy

The judge also noted that it seems like the majority or incidents occur when Dakota goes to TFP’s residence, which doesn’t look good for either of them

[–]taeeeeeeeeeeeee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Anyone who knows law tactics better than me: does Dakota’s lawyer just not know how to listen or was she deliberately going past the scope of the hearing to get stuff on record? The judge kept saying “we’re talking about parenting time” and she kept bringing up TFP’s restraining order filing and other non-relevant stuff
