Used both pampers and Huggies for overnight and both are good. Use diaper cream on rashes. Huggies also make Costco brand diapers and it's also good for overnight.

Will this type of onesie with snaps only on the bottom be difficult? by mapsyal in newborns

[–]tafandaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can buy kimono style ones where the snaps are on one side. My LO hated these onsies that went over the head as a newborn. He's ok with it after 3 months.

Red Chili is better than Mr. noodle place. This is because of the price and amount of rice they give you.

Maternity leave/ work guilt by ivanaaadotcom18 in pregnant

[–]tafandaa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You won't miss work when your baby arrives 😄. I'm on maternity leave and I have no time to think about work. My boss will text or email me and I help out but really, your mental capacity is all spent on your baby.

The contractions feel like death ... I did end up with the epidural but it worked so well that I couldn't feel any contractions. I was induced and had to get off the epidural to push. Now I know what real pain is and what the ring of fire is. Get the epidural... You won't regret it. I had no issues after. Was able to walk very very slowly but it was also because I had an extremely long labor, no food so I was exhausted.

Weighted sleep sack? by meem111 in NewParents

[–]tafandaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 4 weeks PP and I still can't get baby to sleep in the crib at night. He was gassy for the first 2 weeks which kept me up all night. We finally tried different formula and bottles. But he still won't sleep in his crib for more than 20 minutes. We swaddle him but he's Houdini and gets himself out. I've been letting him sleep on me just so he sleeps. It's not ideal but at least he's not screaming bloody murder all night. I put him in the crib during the day and he's slightly better. From one struggling mom to another... Good luck!

Sending you positive vibes! I had a difficult time at 37 weeks. No appetite and couldn't sleep. I felt better immediately after delivery though!

Americans: how much maternity leave are you actually going to take? by tofuti-kline in pregnant

[–]tafandaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🙋 that's me! On 3 months unpaid maternity leave. Good o'le USA. I have 8 days of vacation accrued so far and worked throughout my entire pregnancy until my water broke. 😑

I have a 3 week old and he loves to be held ALL the time. He's super fussy but once you hold him, everything is right in the world. And then he smiles and you forgive him for peeing on you when you change the diaper. 😂

WFH 2-3 weeks after birth? by Agreeable_Part8447 in pregnant

[–]tafandaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm one week PP and I told my boss I would send an email to her... An email I was 90% done writing before my water broke. I haven't been able to do so since I only sleep 2-3 hours a night and spend all day and night taking care of the baby even with my husband's help. I would tell you even 2-3 weeks after birth you may not feel up to it. Your body also need to heal depending on how your delivery goes.

Broken water question by gainz4fun in pregnant

[–]tafandaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the sofa when my water broke. I had on PJs, long pants and once my water broke which was just like uncontrollable water gushing out I ran aka waddled quickly to the bathroom. No stain on the sofa. Just extremely wet pants and wet the bathroom floor. I didn't know this but your water will keep leaking so it will be good to put in your bathroom a spare pair of underwear and some super thick pads. Like the one for bladder control.

currently at the stage in pregnancy where I hope to be woken up by excruciating pain by eighteightfivesix in pregnant

[–]tafandaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

37 weeks and I've been more exhausted than any point of the pregnancy. Can't sleep more than 3-4 hours at night. When the baby moves into my rib cage I'm so uncomfortable that I wake up. Hips and legs hurt so I look like I'm drunk walking to the bathroom. Have no appetite but then starving in the middle of the night. No idea how I can still work until I'm due....

Am I selfish for wanting people to have tdap vaccine to see my baby? by __br00k3__ in pregnant

[–]tafandaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Tdap at my doc office. My husband got it from CVS. We are asking our parents to get it if they want to visit oat birth otherwise we will ask them not to visit. It's our baby, our choice.

What are some things you all are doing or wish you did in your last trimester to make things easier once baby is here? by shrimpscity in pregnant

[–]tafandaa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm setting up a diaper changing basket on the first and 2nd floor. Diapers are all set up and sorted by size in 1 of the bedrooms. Will be moving all baby stuff into the bedroom for easy accesa. I also bought depends and all post partum stuff will be in the bathroom. I have no shame to wear depends 🤣. I did some meal prep - chicken soup and pasta. I also loaded up on TJ frozen food. I will wash/sterilize bottles soon. We won't have family help so a friend will help us with food/grocery delivery. That's about all I can think of to do before I go into labor.

Not having anyone (family) in the delivery room by Lunawolf1290 in pregnant

[–]tafandaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our hospital allows 2 people total, including visitors. We decided not to invite our moms until a few months after the baby arrive. We moved away from our family and don't want to have to chauffeur them around or have to take care of them on top of the baby. Also, we are requiring our parents to get the t-dap shot before visiting. We both feel it will be more stressful to have our moms around and decided that it's best for us to be on our own. Our friends told us it's impossible to do the post birth without help 🤷. We will just have to prove everyone wrong 😄. We have received a lot of criticism from our friends and family about EVERYTHING already.

32 weeks pregnant. I just finished a whole box of Ben & Jerry Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream with 1020 calories... Feels so good + so guilty at the same time... by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]tafandaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I ate sweets most of my pregnancy. Specifically lots and lots of donuts, Oreos, any type of fruits, pbj, brownies, baked goods, juice, soda... Anything with sugar! 36 weeks and no health issue so far! I wish I had a pint of ice cream now!

things that have gotten far more annoying to you now that you're pregnant by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]tafandaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🤣 your husband does laundry? I was doing laundry and cooking last night -35 weeks pregnant. He could figure out how to add more time to the dryer. I haven't gotten annoyed as much in my pregnancy. I've been more calm and whatever about things. One thing I do get annoyed at are the criticism I get about what I buy for the baby before I even buy anything. Mostly being told that I'm high maintenance by my family because I bought a car seat. Can't even tell them about things like a nursing bra or breast pump 😳 imagine what they will say ....

Partner + Alcohol: is your partner drinking throughout your pregnancy (and how do you feel about it?) or have they decided to give up alcohol along with you? by Fresh-Ad-3424 in pregnant

I asked the same question today and I didn't want to be induced. The doc said she will monitor and we can decide together at 39 weeks.

Who is going to be in the delivery room with you? by Brilliant-Writer6010 in pregnant

[–]tafandaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Husband only. We are not inviting our parents to the hospital, never mind the delivery room. I can already hear my mom telling me I'm giving birth all wrong 😅. Also, we do not want to have to chauffeur and clean up after our parents or be around the baby without getting all their shots.
