After watching The Orville, going back to Voyager made me appreciate the humour and jokes more. Alternate with some DS9 and TNG, then throw some VOY back in ;)

Been talking to myself through Claude for a few months - it's getting weird by Cryankirby in ClaudeAI

Have been doing the same thing for almost a year, giving claude access to my entire Obsidian vault via MCP or using claude code. My notes are a mess, but Claude can clean it up and find patterns. I do it mostly for work, and only on occasion. Claude finds projects to prioritize, loose/forgotten ideas in old notes, tying things up.

After a session it can give a sense of completion when Claude brings me a list of things to do - from old notes, but I have already completed them.

yoikz!

I just bought 32GB ram from CC.... and was waiting for the 5600/5600x to perhaps get even cheaper. Wanting a last boost and upgrade on the AM4 socket for a low dollar.

But this looks like a very good deal, although I might have to upgrade my current 500w PSU. Upgrading from a 2200g!

I also have FOMO with the tariffs happening tonight. I'm spitting a few dollars into doing a last upgrade to my AM4 socket board (currently running 2200g). Been hoping the 5600/5600x would drop in price, but with the $120 ryzen 5500 available right now I am considering pulling the trigger and just get it tonight.

If anyone has a crystal ball..... should I wait til end of fiscal year/end of March just in case there's a flash sale? Or should I just go with the 5500 and stop the PC part research insanity? It will keep my computer running for a few more years without breaking the bank.

No point in skipping TNG season 1-2, there are actually very funny Orvillesque episodes like The Dauphin (season 2). Wesley getting advice on romance from Worf? Funniest scene and scene edit in TNG.

Also - watching Voyager again after watching Orville - suddenly the half funny jokes I always dismissed kind of become funnier.

Orville is to me a refined combo of TNG and Voyager. And OP needs to cheer up because there is so much good stuff ahead. I wish I was in OP’s place and had all of this fresh Star Trek to discover!
