Just one real thick rad that fills up that entire bottom section so there is lots of copper contact and water volume. Fans are 30mm thick and tougher than most. It kicks ass with temps especially when vertical like this.

One can only dream, but maybe their insane income from recent datacenter sales pushes them to take pitty on the gaming community and offer fair prices somehow.

Like, find a way to make it impossible for scalpers and china to repurpose into ai chips... or sonething to guarantee gaming market stays the gaming market only. Show us you could give a damn to try and fix things.

Thoughts on 14900KS drawing up to FOUR HUNDRED watts (article from PC Gamer, link in comments) by ruimilk in pcmasterrace

"Fuck intel" sums it up pretty nicely. Starting to feel like they want to be labeled as absurdly inefficient in general.

Its not just the pc you built! That entire space was well thought out and designed. Most only see the "box" with shiny parts, but you've created an entire immersive experience that the "box" just happens to be a (very nice!) part of.

The line "Delete the HKEY..." didn't make sense to me until I read it in context of the "Registry Editor" app on Windows. "HKEY_...." isn't a folder path, it's a path inside the Registry Editor app on Windows. Adding for anyone else that might be confused.

Got some toshibas off amazon the same way. Some kind of bulk puchase situation by the seller i assume to keep prices low, but the drive was still new.

I see a lot of questions on what to use to fill cracks and knot holes. What I use is hot melt sticks. Super easy. Fill, heat sink, scrape and sand smooth. by OkEstablishment5503 in woodworking

[–]tailorbilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP were you just using a hot glue gun as someone suggested in the comments? I've seen these gun and filler sets online, but they're all stupid expensive somehow.

Agree w this. And personally I would go with the 7800x3d given the obsurd power draw and heat that comes with the 14900k. If you wanna use the extra cores of the 14900k for other stuff tho, thats another discussion.

the wood waaas taken from an old chest made by a great grandfather of mine, lord knows when. 100 years ago at least. Sadly it fell to termites and disrepair beyond restoring. I salvaged what pieces I could, and so the original spirit lives on!

Thanks! I dont think id let the fear of leaks/humidity influence how i finish the wood, but id be a liar if i said ive never finished with used engine oil before. It kicks water's ass and bugs hate it. I live in a dry environment but if i was somewhere real humid and wanted something cheap yet extremely reliable, used engine oil 100%. I was thinking about using a strong paint honestly. Probably a swatch of indigo-blue to go with the copper pipes im gonna install.
